basically, they deviated heavily from the LN and the anime did its own thing. (they still some what followed it, same arcs and stuff. but it was rewritten for worse.) there is a very good chance season 3 will redeem itself, since they fired s2 director and studio.

made in abyss / shield hero assistant director is the director of season 3 with the original studio, along with promising staff alongside.

the changes they did to season 2 made it extremely generic, but it’s understandable to a certain extent with the turtle arc. because it is a very long and weakest arc of it all. but they fumbled the second arc just as bad

First of all, the main reason for the low score were the expectations.

Now, the begining of the season was really bad and slow paced (really boring to watch) and that took the hit as the first impression.

The second part was ok and we got to see some character development but it's still in the shadow of the giant turtle.

I don't even remember the ending, but from what I heard the 3rd season is gonna be different so let's hope we are going to get something better then this

I get what you mean. its funny at some points with out trying to be funny. Different to a show like konosuba for example. I love both shows but this one has a different kind of humor to it. more subtle and serious I would say

I mean I’m going to watch it regardless so honestly idk why I’m asking this as I’ll find out anyway but it just shocked me a bit to see that big of a vote shift… what changed? Also do you think season 3 will redeem itself?
