The unluckiness of rainy days doesn't end, now that the conductor Hiroaki Ayukawa is in charge of perfecting Tchaikovsky's The Nutcracker: Overture, and he will not tolerate any mistakes, which Hajime ended up conducting one due to the conductor being the resembling splitting image of his own father.

Hajime feeling responsible for the wrong that he did, and Harada-senpai reassures him that this is not the first time that this has happened, and all that does is just with incremental improvement. The way home, and the weather doesn't seem better, which Haru's umbrella has to break at the worst timing, and Hajime accompanying her to the nearby station, while still being awkward with each other. Bit by bit, Haru begins to open up to him while fumbling her words which to Hajime, can only be interpreted as strange, but still, he's thankful that he can converse normally with her.

The promise that Haru had with Hajime when they were young, is when Haru ended up participating in competitions that she ends up losing in, with said boy who was still edging out 1st place results back then. Even when Haru attempted a difficult piece like Bruch, Hajime found it compelling to hear, and a winner's recital that could potentially see the both of them perform with each other. But sadly, Hajime forgot since that much time has already passed since elementary school. Haru is still the same timid girl as she always has been and left alone, and having Akine with her is more than enough. Retracting the practice earlier in the episode, both Hajime and Saeki just cannot stand one another, and despite Haru being falling short against the two prodigies, a musical sound in forte marked the difference between standing out and holding back.

The stark truth about Haru, is that she never changed from middle school, despite comparing herself to Akine and wanting things to become the status quo, such that she almost developed PTSD with her bullying from back then with Akine protecting her.

Will Haru ever get across her trauma and be a new person? Only time will tell.

It was as a good one, probably my favorite of this show. It was more deep than usual.

Even the ost was perfect.
I close my eyes and ears for the music part…

Akine is great but I'm more into Haru so I'm happy we got an episode focused on her.

What a dick of teacher btw, is this how you motivate your students? Glad the club president is at least kind. Aono was even blushing xD.

I feel sorry for Haru for everything she has experienced, the trauma of the past; she does not deserve it. Looking at the brighter side, Ricchan was and will be by her side no matter what. I hope her state will be better in the next episode! Also hoping for her performance with Aono soon, if there will be one in the future! Fulfill your promise Aono!

I don't know, I feel like even if the MC is clearly still affected by his trauma, he is very hard to like.

It's now episode 7 and I still don't feel anything for him, not any compassion just annoyed.

Visually, again, the studio is trying pretty hard, and some scenes looked quite good, especially the last scene with Haru walking on the street. I'll give credit where credit is due.

I'm a bit mixed on how their handling the character growth in this show, that's for sure. I like Akine so far, but Aono's developments so far have been quite weak in my opinion, and having a conductor who reminds him of his father, not a huge fan of that direction to be honest. For Haru, it's okay, but the childhood promise with Aono felt just a tad forced. Her hating her shy personality sort of works, but the bullying backstory was completely unnecessary, it's just a bit much. I am interested in her "holding back" while playing music, as Saeki mentioned, though, and why that's the case.

i really don't like haru. she's like exactly one of my least favorite types of characters. i don't hate shy characters, but when they're overly shy like that and are constantly stuttering, struggling to finish sentences, and avoidant of people it really bothers me. especially since she's all "i thought things would change". like girl, obviously nothing's going to change if you don't even put in an effort to talk to people or hang out with them. and even pushing your friends away like that when you're invited to hang out. i also fond her voice annoying, but what can you do about that? very hard episode for me to get through though. i want an episode focused on nao or harada next. i think that'd be interesting.

The episode focused on Haru this time, giving us her backstory from the 1st moment she met Aono in 2nd grade elementary (during a competition) and her gloomy, introverted life in middle school. While talented she tends to be overtaken by her insecurities and lack of self-confidence, which caused her some disappointments and some particular experiences in both her violin career and school life.

It was sad that Aono cannot remember meeting her before but then his memories regressed due to the trauma his dad's infidelity caused his family.
The only true friend she has now is Ritsuko, the one will always look after her whenever she needs help.

I am beginning to understand now why it seems the show is slow. To me it always sticks out how a lot of scenes in each episode seems stretched or extra frames seems to be added to make it seconds longer than necessary. I guess this is to take the theme of the color of the show - "Ao" or "Aoi" or Blue. Usually blue gives a sense of calm, soothing and docile flow of sights and/or sound. I guess this is the direction they are taking in adapting the source material alongside the contrasting strong and sometimes lively music compositions they insert.

Also that part showing Aono playing the violin when he was a younger kid, that animation style seems a bit better than the CG they usually use. I guess they use that only for solo character animations specially for Aono.

I already forget the promise I made yesterday, there's no way someone can remember the promise made in elementary school.

Aono was so cheerful as a kid, his father's scandal really changed him. I also want to see Haru's bully getting their punishment, I don't want them to get away scot-free after bullying Haru and framing Aine for it

Did not expect them to bring up bullying. Now this could work with ... Haru and Saeki. They did not turn him into an elitist prodigy guy (which I had expected when I first saw the char design) ... he seems pretty normal. And I guess that small conversation at the end is to prepare us for further development between those two. (Of course a friendship first.) What we need is a background episode on Saeki though.

Liked how a lot of the episodes hat the names of characters as episode name. But the real background ... there is still a lot to explore for some of the other chars. The older guy acting as conductor is the teacher guy that was in school with the other teacher from the school the male main went to previously I guess.

So we have our shy girl Rimi-rin look alike character, I mean Haru, who also likes horror movies.....its clear Haru is based on Rimi from Bang Dreram.

By Bang Dream season 2, sure, Rimi still sounds timid, but she no longer is anxious compared to S1.

Lets see Haru become less timid and anxious by the end of the show, I hope.

Animations remain stiff. Funny, because in Ep6, we see Akine smiling at Aono during the CGI performance sequence, so clearly Nippon Animation can do 3D CGI, which, apart from the copy-paste bodies, still seem okay from the mocap.

Those awkward pauses still remain, especially between dialogue, like they are trying to stretch the time....this gets annoying....I find myself jumping 2-3 seconds ahead through this whole episode lol.

Haru's focus in this episode hit so hard, I highly relate to her from when I was in middle and high school. While I was never bullied, I always had a low self-esteem, and hoped that I could change, while also not making the effort to, but at the same time, knowing that of course nothing would change if I didn't make any effort. But then, to even start making that effort was so difficult, I could hype myself up and simulate scenarios in my head in order to take a step forward, but when it came to reality, I just couldn't do it. Or if I did, my interactions ended up being awkward, and I'd replay my "failure" in my head over and over again, causing me to get even more nervous of future interactions with my classmates. It was a cycle that I couldn't really get out of, and part of that cycle was self-hatred, not liking that I'd blame things on my own introversion, or how I would get jealous of my extroverted friends, or envy any other classmate I had who seemed to interact and become friends with others so effortlessly (but maybe some of them also had to make effort). The last part of the episode really made me remember those times, and when Haru cried, I cried, too. It's hard for some people to understand the struggle, because it seems so easy. But there's actual fear and/or anxiety involved for a lot of people. And I can see with Haru's experience of being bullied, that it'd be even harder for her, she has actual reasons to be avoid making new friends. I'm actually proud of her though, for bringing up the promise to Aono, and not running away after he said that he didn't remember. At that age, I would've been so embarrassed and have avoided the person.

Speaking of Aono, he was such a bright and outgoing child, I'm really surprised at how different he used to be. Life changing events can really alter a person's attitude towards daily life, although I don't think some of his core personality changed. Once he gets a chance to interact with people who he knows won't judge him, he's able to make friendly chats. It's still sad to see how his father's infidelity affected him.

Blue Orchestra's seventh episode delivers a profound and unforgettable chapter, exploring themes of redemption and forgiveness. With exceptional performances, stunning visuals, and expert storytelling, this installment leaves a lasting impression. While some secondary characters could have been further developed, the emotional resonance and masterful execution make it a symphony worth experiencing.

I wonder if sensei has anything to do with Hajime or his dad.

Haru focus episode, backstory was withing expectation. Her personality is really timid so, glad Akine is there for her. Also I hope Hajime remembers the promise.
