Season 1 covers the first 1/3 of the manga, might as well adapt it to the end.

Looking forward to it.

Realistically speaking, I think they'll need 2 x12 eps seasons or a single 24 ep season for completing the whole manga adaptation if they don't wanna rush anything.

I won't be watching S2.

Also I wish MAPPA would finish Dorohedoro instead.

I'm just waiting for Attack on Titan to get that final episode done so this show can hopefully return, since the MAPPA director of AoT is the one that directed Dorohedoro. It's the one MAPPA show I've genuinely loved and it's kind of been forgotten about after the craze of shows they've released over the last few years.

You know that if Mappa doesn't take projects, their animators will just work as freelancers for other companies, right?

Not at all. Freelancers are essential for any production, specially super high-profile ones. The only studio that really has a lot of in-house artists, and great ones at that, is KyoAni.

It really depends on what's in your contract. You can be a full-time permanent employee at one company while still working as a freelancer for other companies.

I'm hoping a better schedule for S2 because this season was a mess from a production stand point.

I think it's planned from get go to have 2 seasons to adapt til the end of Manga from get go when they start this project though.
From the pacing of season 1, is clear they wanna finish the whole story in 2 seasons.

nah that ship has sailed. Mappa isn't the same daring studio which used to adapt wild non shonen shows.
