| Ah yes, there's Hyouma pushing himself again to be stronger with training. Got more background storytelling too. This feels like a somewhat soft reboot introduction again with all the cast again. Hyouma hasn't changed much yet but looks like he has encountered some influential characters this season. Meanwhile, I think this episode is setting up for rest of the season and some dangerous abilities already being shown in this episode. |

| The return of Mononogatari for its 2nd (split-cour) season, and it's just as decent as its initial season. Not a fan of Megatera Zero, though the OP song can be fire. Azusa Tadakoro's ED is fine. Hyoma and Botan are back continuing the tsukumogami-tinged love story, and even after a flashback of how he got into the Nagatsuki household, it's really been 6 months since the start of the anime. Botan and the other tsukumogami clearing up what would become Hyoma's room, they broke Botan's grandpa's family memento breathing pipe in the process when it became a rogue tsukumogami. Hyoma's training with Tsubaki is coming strong, though he shares to her how life was like with his siblings Kusui and Hayato still around as part of the Kunato Saenome family, and how it all came crashing down on their deaths. The Aoi Festival is a rather significant one for tsukumogami, though Hyoma is out of this parade due to the past Night Parade of a Hundred Demons, which while associated with yokai, it's also a parade for tsukumogami, which would trigger his hatred for tsukumogami more. Sensing a tsukumogami nearby, Hyoma did sense one, though this was handled by the Three Great Tsukumogami of the Bureau of Traditional Music: Tsumabiki, Fukie and Tsuzumi, temporarily knocking out the public and dispelling the tsukumogami. Indeed, Hyoma feels threatened by the trio, though Haori came in rather late for the greeting. The same umbrella, which triggered Hyoma's unpleasant memories about the tsukumogami who killed both his siblings and knew how to use Saenome talismans, it's a sign of trouble incoming. Decent return. |

| Nice short recap of the story to this point. Pretty catchy OP though. After 17 years the dust is gonna be pretty damm thick. Quite the welcome Botan ended up getting from that pipe. Hyoma's elder siblings sure were impressive. One hell of an image that Hyoma had of parades though. The bureau of traditional music's intervention sure was impressive. As expected of one of Kyoto's greats. Haori sure managed to get the drop on Hyoma though. Though painful seeing what happened from the eyes of Hyoma's elders was insightful and showed well just how powerful the red umbrella reall was. Overall a pretty balanced ep that featured some pretty curious new characters while reintruducing us to the unique dynamic of Hyoma and his friends. |

| Man it’s so good to be back in this world with this show. Criminally underrated and slept on series that really grew on me during the winter season. Botan and Hyoma back on the menu 😋 Nice little recap in the first half to get us back up to speed on the short, also showing things from Botan perspective. Feels like they’re going to be upping the shipping intensity this season which I’m all for. It also seems like the overall plot is gonna be taking a much more serious turn. I’m guessing that lady at the end is somehow related to hyoma’s siblings deaths and based on the KV I expect her to be a central part of the conflict this season. |

| I prefer the first opening theme, but the new one is quite cool as well. Calm episode to quickly review the motivations and objectives of this story and its characters. Enjoyed the first season more than I expected so I'm looking forward to this one too. -Saphiran- said: Opening was surprisingly very well animated. I know it doesn't mean much, but if we can see glimpses of that quality within some episodes, I'd be satisfied. And if there's nothing, no problem; I was already cool with it as it is. Art is at least always quite good.Animation is still shit though. |

| This was a nice episode to start the second season. We've got some new characters and we learned a bit more about Hyouma's siblings I like how 6 months have passed in the show between the first season and now, kinda like how the first season was actually 6 months ago IRL. Not sure if that was intentional but idk I just kinda like that Looking forward to seeing where this goes! |

| Botan and Hyoma are back, let's go! I like how Botan's friend texted their group that Botan was flirting when Hyoma approached her about dinner but then had to go (I'm sure it was a set up before it was interrupted). Speaking of set ups, it appears that Hyoma's siblings were set up with the tsukumogami that attacked and killed them as there was a Saenome talisman barrier for reversing techniques so there may be other(s) involved, interesting. Anyways, looking forward to how this 2nd cour plays out. |
| So it's going to be more straighforward about the "love story" from now on, good because unless the animation suddenly improve, tha actions scenes will still feel stiff. Nice to see more about Hyouma's siblings. |
| Hyoma's brother apparently had time for some really bombastic prose during his fight with this killer umbrella. "The impurity encroaching into the land of the living...a repulsive, malevolent god!" isn't often the kind of observational analogy you'd be concerning yourself with in the heat of the moment. |
