| Not really, no. - Mashle is a comedy that takes the trops of the genre and play them for lulz. It being funny or not will depend of the person, I won't judge here. - Nanaken takes the tropes of the genre, appears at first glance to follow them seriously, just to go in a completely surprising directions all the time rather than following them. And those directions actually makes sense in universe, and make for a pretty unique world building to set up the stage for the main story. Obviously most anime fans watching it won't like that since most peoples watching this show actually LIKE those magic school tropes. Those that would have liked it mostly either avoided it thinking it was ust another example of the same super tropy genre, or at best watched the beginning, confirmed the tropes were here, and just left. Peoples who enjoy seeing tropes being deconstructed in interesting ways are having a field day with the show though, so depending of which side you are your opinion on it will be veeery different. |

| I watched Trinity Seven ( including most of the movies ) and this is nothing like trinity seven as far as i remember. This is just Harry Potter partly mixed with Asian Culture. (I am not saying its same quality as Harry Potter or better/worse than it but this is the best way to explain) |

| Well "Trinity seven" the TV series sucked. The "Seven Deadly sins" was overall MID. Finally "Mashle" was a parody/comedy, which subjectively doesn't appeal to me. While this show, while the quality of the visuals was poor, the storytelling was good. I would put it on the same level or a little below "Seven Deadly sins". |
