| Wow this episode was fantastic? Astro Boy 2003 is making Atom much more willing to side with robots against humans than the manga or the 80s anime ever did and it's really great. In the manga he was a complete bootlicker, he got pissed at robots for even daring to protest for more rights. And in the 80s anime he just seemed wholly disconnected from the movement entirely. Super excited to see how this plays out, obviously it'll end somehow with humans and robots reconciling but hopefully they won't be slaves anymore? Idk. The manga loved to claim every 5 minutes that robots had been granted equal rights to humans despite that being demonstrably false in pretty much every chapter, it was bizarre. |
