Haven't heard of the studio or staff before. Does anyone know if this could finally be a good Berserk adaptation and how many arcs they're covering?

Yeah it even has a talking sword voiced by the shining finger guy. That screams pure kino to me.

This is not Kentaro Miura’s work. This is Berserk Of Gluttony a completely different story. It has no relation to Berserk whatsoever. If you are looking for a good adaptation of Berserk look at the 98 anime. After that I recommend reading the manga, but like I said, this anime has no relation to Berserk in any manner.

Studio worked on Initial D and Wangan Midnight and the director is the legendary Tetsuya Yanagisawa who directed.....

Mid in my taste. Just a story about mc suddenly got unique skill that make him stronger by killing. You see the pattern here? And of course people will try to convince you that no, it's different, no it'll get better, blah, blah, blah... just give it a watch like maybe three ep rule, then decide yourself. That's my advice.

not sure why i cant change my status from plan to watch to watching.. first episode aired 2 days ago on crunchyroll & i see it says other people have changed their status to "watching" but it wont let me.. weird.

Berserk is probably never getting a continuation if you are curious btw. It peaked at golden age and just kept on going downhill with such long hiatuses.
