| Hmm, I kinda like the direction of this season, by giving spotlight to a variety of characters. This episode features more of Gold Ship and her ambitions related to racing. On the other hand, this season sure has a lot of crying moments, even in this episode. Gold Ship has such a competitive mentality although the same could be said for a lot of characters in that race. However, I like Gold Ship's commanding presence. |

| Poor Kitasan leading the race only to be overtaken at the last moment. well there is always next time. Gold Ship also showing what she was made of which was nice to watch. Kitasan helping out those venders was also nice of her she is really liked in that district. |
| Satono Diamond with her first win at the Derby, and Kitasan being offered a position running at the Arima Kinen, she's gunning for the big shots. But Gold Ship clearly is out of her elemt given what happened to her at the Takarazuma Kinen, and Sounds of Earth is Team Canopus's new recruit who's a bit of an oddball. Clearly, Gold Ship seems like she's already at ther end game, and a sudden press conference to go for the Dream Trophy League after the Twinkle Series with Arima Kenin being her last race, it's a shocking news, no doubt. Given how much Gold Ship has fought for her faces back in the prior seasons, her mentality was breaking down despite winning 7 G1s, and the Nakayama Racecourse of the G1 Arima Kinen is she draws the line. facing Kitasan, Sounds of Earth and the rest. The same racecourse where Teio won her hard-fought race, it's a strategic race to run for pitting youngsters against veterans, as Gold Ship is set to oblierate her competition once again, but both her and Kitasan flunked, albeit the clear one being intentionally and purposefully aiming higher. Certainly, the young'uns celebrating over draft beer, and Gold Ship gave Kitasan a dream to hope and clinch for. Dreams don't die... |

Arima~ Arima~ Reminds me of Teio's honey song She turned off the BGM lmao I love how they don't adress how fast they are going on that boat Does anyone know what ็่ on the wall means? Literally it's "ministry holy" but this doesn't make sense. These "Dream Trophy League" and "Twinkle Series" are fictional things right? Do they have irl counterparts? 12:27 Who are the tyrant and the lady mentioned here? I'm assuming they are horses that Cygames didn't get permission to include in the franchise or something. New characters who talk about Uma Musume's backgrounds yay! I'm guessing the old guy in the crowd they keep showing is irl Gold Ship's owner or jockey An unknown character winning the race was really unexpected. Who is her irl counterpart? From what I can see All Haiyu isn't a name of a real horse. I feel bad for saying this but crying Spe-chan is so cute. Btw in the ED near the end Kitasan is in the same pose as Teio was in the season 1 poster! Really good episode again! The one thing I didn't expect this season is an episode focused on Gold Ship. Guess she'll be gone from the anime now? I'll miss seeing her doing random stuff in the background :( And btw with this episode's release a new manga was announced! It will be a weekly manga published weekly on CoroCoro Comic (but it's a monthly magazine, idk what's up with that). |

| A fake violin that is a boombox, sounds like a great thing to have, making the conversation have some dramatic tone. Im kinda disappointed that Nature and Kitasan didn't hit the lake bank seeing how they were pedalling really hard. Not today exposition fans, today the OG Gold Ship fans say exposition. |

| I appreciate how this season doesn't force the story into an overly emotional direction like the last one did. After all, not every horse has such a dramatic arc. The approach of having multiple main characters seems to be paying off well so far. The presence of Cheval's sisters virtually guarantees Gentildonna's involvement, just Duramente's appearance signals Orfevre. The Umabros just can't seem to stop winning. This episode was a monumental moment for both the Keibabros and Umabros. It's safe to say that Umamusume has only just begun and is still in its early stages. I expect we can look forward to many more fantastic developments this season. |

| Kinda sad Gold Ship was 8th for her last race in this competition though, but it was nice to see how hyped the crowd was despite this performance, and Kita didn't win as well :/ But maybe next time |

| A much more effective and impactful episode than the ludicrously overdramatic opening two, not least because of giving some long-overdue focus to Gold Ship and not just treating her like coming relief for once. Sounds of Earth is a very entertaining addition to the UmaMusu anime cast. |

| I'm happy that Gold Ship got a lot of focus in this episode and, while we did get a funny rolling montage of her erratic behaviour and hilarious facial expressions, it was nice to see her serious side when it came to running her last race of the twinkle series at the Arima Kinen. Despite her impressive burst of speed during the race, she could only manage 8th, but she got a much louder cheer than the race winner. As for Kitasan Black, she should be proud of that 3rd place finish. I hope that she'll continue to do well and get more wins along the way, along with Satono Diamond, who already has two wins already. =) All in all, this was a really nice episode. I do hope we'll get to see more of Sounds Of Earth. Her performance during the race was great, despite her oddball personality. |
| As much as I love Gold Ship, I kinda felt bad for actual winner there lol, but I imagine that probably happens irl too, especially when you have a beloved horse like Gold Ship in the same race. But man I really wanted to see her win too, Kitasan is great and all but Gold Ship was the main character of this particular race lol, and it was also funny seeing the nerds being out nerded by most likely older fans, each generation has its dedicated fans lol. And it looks like Satono Diamond is already winning races, I would prefer if she wasn’t winning right out the gate but giving how this is based on irl horse racing I wouldn’t be surprised if the actual horse was just that good. And I’m ngl, Sounds of Earth might become a new favorite of mine, she has a unique voice and I love the music theme with her, definitely looking forward to more of her. And lastly, gotta love how Nice Nature has become the emotional support for Kitasan lol, it might be a demotion of sorts but any amount of Nice Nature I’ll absolutely take, I loved her reaction to being called Sensei too lol. |
| ANOTHER GODLIKE EPISODE!!! Uma Musume always lets me at the verge of tears, I can only imagine how it was for the JRA fans IRL on all these stories. Kita is doing a great job as the protagonist, makes me feel proud since we meet her when she and Dia were kids, great way to introduce characters. I love her relationship with Nice, I hope we see more moments of them together, I feel they have a depeer connection that what we saw with Teio and Rudolf lol And I love that we finally got some real lore explanation for Goldshi, a bit too late but I appreciate it. |

| ^ yup. Oh well. Speaking of Cinderella Gray, watching Part 2 which is airing right now, and it's so good that it made me come back here to season 3. Had dropped it at this episode two years ago when it was airing; was just not feeling it. But let's give it another chance shall we, it might actually slap. So far though.... it's kind of meh; at least compared to everything else from the series thus far. They've done a good job of integrating the real world horse races into anime form, but this one feels a bit slapped together. Take this episode for instance: nothing against Gold Ship's character, but an episode focused on her just on the 3rd episode only when Kitasan is the main character of this season seems a bit out of place imo. Maybe it's because we've already speed-ran all of Kitasan's character development already? Like she's already gone through a depression stage and came back from it within 2 episodes, the first 2, at that. I guess we are moving fast with this one. I mean, we got the Japanese Derby in the very first episode right off the bat. Now here in just the 3rd episode we have finished the Arima Kinen, which is most likely what Cinderella Gray, with 20+ episodes, is going to end off on. Maybe season 3 is meant to cover multiple years or something? Idk. Season 1 was good. Season 2 was an emotional roller coaster and the current peak of this series. The Road to the Top and the Beginning of a New Era movies did not have the time of a full season for their characters but nonetheless they each managed to pack more than a punch with enough heart, hype, and of course, visual spectacle. Season 3 here... so far at least, doesn't seem to have any weight to it in any regard. Perhaps it is too early to tell, although one personal tell-tale sign for me is that I'm not really invested in Kitasan's character. Cool character design and racing outfit, but not a captivating character, imHo. Like right now I want to know more about Duramente, who captured my attention just from being overpowered for a couple minutes of on-screen time, even though she hasn't spoken a WORD thus far. Now we're even putting our main character on the sidelines for a bit and giving a Gold Ship send-off close to the start of the season? If it's somehow meant for Kitasan's character development, sure. But I guess we're shoe-horning this in here because maybe she's a beloved character and they had to do it somewhere. But why here? Anyway. Gonna stop rambling and actually let the show breathe first, it's only the 3rd episode after all. I know I shouldn't complain too much about a gacha game adaptation, but come on. The rest of this series is actually pretty freaking good, so I'd expect no less here. I'll just say for now that if it's even half as good as Season 2, it'll at least get a pass. |
