Does Slayers still have a fanbase?

I haven't seen anything Slayers-related in a while, is the fanbase dead? Just wondering.

Its old so no wonders, ppl keeping up with new stuff that release recently. Im fan of this even tho i watched it last year first time but i got everything, all seasons plus movies and ovas. And i got to say i loved it, whole atmosphere, 90's vibe, animation, character, random episodes and silly conversation and comedy, great action, even tho romance is undertoned in that time they make character development better than this age and strong adult romance. I loved main mc character and her voice actor she is just fun to watch. If they make more remakes and sequels that would be fun to watch. All that nostalgia i loved it

Figured I had to comment on this given my username.
I first watched it when I was in high school a few years ago and loved it. That was when I had a lot more time to watch old retro anime, before I ever watched a seasonal or browsed the internet for anime recommendations.
I don’t think the fandom for slayers will grow back unless a remake comes out (possible but unlikely). I still have yet to even read most of the light novels so personally I’m satisfied just with more of those coming out (last one was in 2019, so fairly recently).

Slayers Next was my 200th anime so yeah, I'm a fan since then. If I remember correctly, Lina was listed as my favourite character back then too :-)

I wish we get more Slayers anime in the future but chances are slim :-/

I would love to see the entire series and movies come to Bluray. I'm hoping Discotek acquires the license and puts in on Bluray one day.

I love Slayers, though I do wonder if there's any younger fans of the series. Most of the ones I've seen are 30+ nowadays.

For a mid-90s anime that isn't Cowboy Bebop or a Shounen Jump titan I'd say that Slayers having 60k ratings on MAL is a sign that its pretty well liked. Lots of stuff never gets even close to those numbers even if they're dwarfed by Shingeki no Kyojin or whatever.

And I'd say that Slayers passing on some of its dna to Frieren is about as much as you could hope for a popular revival of the show. When I saw Lina get stuck in a dumb trap for the first time I immediately though of Frieren stuck in a mimic, lol.

It sure has a bunch of wandering souls like us. It was my second anime ever, I cried when it ended :'( While I had rewatched my first (Magic Knight Rayearth) many times throughout my life, for years I couldn't get around to rewatching Slayers. Well, this has started to change today!

I don't remember much, but there's a bunch of checkpoints lingering in my memory:

I'm going to need to remind myself what had me so emotionally invested in Slayers, but I *suspect* whatever it was, I'll be finding it in Season 2.

I see. Your only option is to revolutionize the world.
