This anime should have been labelled as parody instead of comedy.

As i said in the title,this anime is more of a parody than a comedy. That should be clarified in the label so people don't come expecting some serious plot since the enjoyment of this anime depending on not taking it seriously.

From the few eps itself its clear that we aint getting a masterpiece or one of the best story from this. It’s just a chill anime with some cool moments with op mc. Those who love to watch isekais will surely like it. And Im not sure if u can call this parody.

This feels like tensura by characters, implemented too many op chars, and main char shadow ik he is op but this is too much ( il drop if i dont like it i know guys). And yea this feels like parody more than comedy

idk, characters like Alexia and Oriana arguably have some serious character moments and growth.

yes overlord, especially when cid says the line "Is that really it?" "is that really it?" "yes ofc it is i was just testing you" or when he learns about some part of the plot he had no idea/ the girls create a theory 100% wrong "UH?! Oh yes, ofc i knew it"

it being a parody would be also incorrect because it plays every isekai trope straight, which goes against the entire point of parodies

" if you don't take the story seriously it's good " this argument is dumb for many reasons but the biggest one is you essentially admitting that it's garbage by Saying " um don't take it seriously bro!! ", it's as dumb as saying " it's just a kids movie "

I didn't mean it in that way.
If u ever seen gintama,aside from its main plot of course,which most of its episodes just a mockery of other anime or anime tropes,u know that these episodes should be watched in a way that doesn't need a serious thinking on what's going on or what's gonna happen next..etc. they are just jokes made for us to laugh.

The only parody aspect of this anime is the mc, and it's not even an isekai parody, it's edge and everyman trope. The story itself is totally serious and should've treated as such.

I wouldn't say it's a parody tbh, I'd say it's a power fantasy isekai with a twist. And the twist is that we have a selfish MC who wants to make his fantasy a reality and that makes for some funny moments. So I'd rather describe it as comedy than parody.
