I'm a couple episodes behind, but it's definitely not bad, it's just not crazy either. It's basically if you mixed MHA with Bocchi, but without the budget of either of those, or the selling point of both (MHA being the character roster and superhero twist-ish and Bocchi being the music)

but I do think it's solid and would recommend if you're already interested. The average is just because most people would probably describe it in the 5-8 range, and I assume mostly based on what they already thought of the premise

Nah, this show is corny as hell. It's like watching miraculous ladybug but the MC is Bocchi.
The premise seemed interesting but the execution is severely lacking.

Big gap in that list is Apothecary Diaries, if Frieren didn’t happen it would be massive. Also, Undead Unluck is a big surprise in how great it is. A bit Chainsaw Man, but with humour.

don't pay too much attention to the scores this season, theres so many good shows that some are getting overshadowed.

I'm enjoying SHY so far but I will admit that i wasn't sold on it for the first half, the pacing was a little odd and the show didn't seem to know what it wanted to be.

I'd be willing to bet most of the low scores are from people that couldn't commit to the show and dropped it before it got good.

If you start watching it and aren’t convinced, try the manga. You might end up finding yourself absorbed in reading it. I started this show giving it a solid 6.5 maybe 7 but as I’m getting farther into the manga I’m enjoying the story a lot more.

I enjoy it, it’s not the best or my favorite from this season, and I can see why there are those who don’t like it, but I look forward to seeing what happens next every Monday. There are like 3 Bocchi archetypes this season, and I enjoy all those shows, guess I’m just into that type of character lol. (Shizuka from 100 Girlfriends, Shy in this, and Umika in Stardust Telepath). I say if you enjoy superhero stories, it’s at least worth checking out. I think it’s a bit more interesting than given credit for, but I can understand where the “basic” label comes from.

nothing special, the story is simple and it really gives impression of western heri comic books (marvel, dc), it's enjoyable, I like the op and ed and the animation is pretty good so definitely worth a try

Its saddening that during every season, most shows get an average rating of 6 despite then being atleast good.

In a less loaded season, I probably would have stuck with it, but I can't say I particularly liked it, either. The first couple episodes were good, but the next ones were forced and boring, and I stopped after episode 6. I agree that the execution leaves a lot to be desired.

@Enderobot I really don’t see anything inappropriate or creepy in AD at all, that really rules out all romance I guess. Maybe you’ll like 16 Bit Sensation? Family and nerd friendly, well made, nostalgic and ramping up the plot nicely toward the end.

@Enderobot I really don’t see anything inappropriate or creepy in AD at all, that really rules out all romance I guess. Maybe you’ll like 16 Bit Sensation? Family and nerd friendly, well made, nostalgic and ramping up the plot nicely toward the end.

Bloom Into You is one of two manga that I’ve actually read and it’s phenomenal! I hope that a season 2 will be made soon but it’s already been about 4 years season 1…

Nice Last Exile flair! I’ll keep that in mind for a show as it airs. The score isn’t an end all be all for whether I’ll watch a show or not; that’s what reviews are for but even then I usually give smelting im interested in a try regardless.

I find it enjoyable but it’s hard for me to be excited by the anime. I was glad when I found out it was only 12 episodes (for season 1) and I’m forcing myself to finish it to make an opinion for myself. I still haven’t watched the past two week’s episodes – I think that if the anime was already completely released, I would’ve dropped it

Sitting through a few episodes to wait to get hooked is relatable, I like to give shows a few episodes before I drop them unless they are truly boring to me. The minute a show consistently feels like a drag though that normally means it’s time to stop watching lol.

Someone said it fails on the execution and I agree, cause the idea is actually really interesting, maybe the manga's better who knows? Either way don't take this opinion too high either, I'm 4-5 eps into it I think

I’m about the same amount of episodes you are and it’s been really resonating with me regardibt the social anxiety Teru has but her will to push through it when time require it. I’m glad I gave the show a chance. I won’t be paying much attention to scores for currently airing shows as long as they are above a 5 I guess.

it took 6 years for a sequel to the ancient magus bride to come around so you just need to have patience with anime

For this show, if you're curious enough to ask, then it's worth watching.

It's part of my weekly rotation, and while it's certainly nothing special, it's definitely not bad either. I do think it's well-animated, and it has a certain charm, but I ultimately don't find it very unique or interesting beyond that. 6.5 feels like a perfect score for me.

I've been reading the manga as the official translations have come out (so up to volume 4) which is where I'm pretty sure this season is going to finish. So it's gonna end with more revelations and new characters where it's gonna start getting interesting, as these first arcs have been largely setting the scene and being mostly Teru/Iko/Pesha driven and that might hurt its chances of getting a second season which will suck, because it very much feels like the pace is going to pick up now in the manga.
