Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating. |
| iirc, they rushed the 1st season that could very well be a 2-cour series. I doubt it. But I hope it does because it's a fun series nonetheless. |
| It's not that I dislike this genre but... to add unnecessary fan services to/in/for heroines and ultimately destroys her character and personality; their purity tarnished because of it, is the only thing I hope to not happen to them. For that sole purity is my fan service. |

It's been confirmed to be receiving a season 2. I'm not sure when, but I'm looking forward to it.

| approaching 2 years now this July since it started. i'm 80% certain this one was a 12-episode, 1 Season, pump and dump anime created to make a profit for everybody involved, increase sales of the sources and merch, and it won't get a sequel. December 18th 2024, bankruptcy proceedings had begun for the company Cloud Hearts which was a Yokohama Animation Lab subsidiary studio started by Hiroshi Nakatani from Yokohama and the studio has since been fully dissolved. Yokohama did survive that failure and went on after Great Cleric (which i have enjoyed both sub and dub 1 time each and think it is a fun show) to work on this Season's 'Sword of the Demon Hunter' which i like and think is a very good show, 'Whisper Me a Love Song' which i entirely skipped, 'The New Gate' which i felt was just barely average to the upper echelons of poor, 'The Witch and the Beast' skipped it, 'The Kingdoms of Ruin' which i dropped after ep11 rating it a 1/10 and really should have dumped after watching the first 3 episodes (it just sucked that bad but my obsessive completionist tendencies kept me going), and Fall 2023 'Rail Romanesque S2' i read the synopsis of S1 and never attempted either one... RR S2 came out the Season immediately after 'Great Cleric' finished. so for me personally? Yokohama has made since Great Cleric: 1 good show that hasn't finished (Sword of the Demon Hunter), 1 average to almost poor show (The New Gate), and 1 entirely worthless show (The Kingdoms of Ruin). that is an entirely SHITTTY track record in my experience. 2 good shows, 1 average almost poor one, and 1 sucktastical crapstravaganza of a show... to me that is a 2 to 2 record, even... but i don't think any anime studio needs to sit on their collective assets and make do with an 'even divide between good work and bad work'... \shrug/ if Great Cleric DOES dig itself out of pump and dump hell? i hope some other studio does the S2. but i'm not gonna hold my breath. |
