No. The last episode was pretty clear in what direction they are going. Creators rarely allow for major changes in the canon of their work for an anime unless the canon hasn't progressed far enough as a source material, like in the original Full Metal Alchemist anime.
It is worth noting that the source material is ongoing, so things can change in the future, but I doubt Mimimi is endgame unless the author gives in to fan outrage to change the ending he had in mind. This is because he has already finished an entire separate manga spin off with Mimimi as the protagonist that lets her be the primary love interest for Tomozaki. It's called "Minami Namani wants to shine" if you are interested. It mostly focuses on her getting into modeling as a way to shine but starts to involve Tomozaki more later in the story.
I've explained this elsewhere, but I'm happy to reiterate for you and anyone else why Fuuka makes sense as his choice if you are disappointed in it.
Fuuka was interested in Fumiya before he even started changing, they went on a couple of dates together, she even helped him fix his relationship with Hinami, while also accepting him for himself, and this all happened in the first season! Aoi even told him she would be the main love interest early in season 1. For better or for worse, he has been pursuing Fuuka for far longer than he even considered Mimimi as a love interest. Honestly, Tomozaki probably already liked Fuuka by the end of the fireworks show in season 1. He just had major doubts about it given the previous issues brought up by Mizusawa and his doubts about Hinami's approach that confused his feelings.
Tomozaki isn't as comfortable being himself with Mimimi as compared to Fuuka, he still has to use his "skills" with her when they are hanging out, and while he has gotten a lot closer to her over the last several episodes, it's too little too late. The overall progression in the relationship between Tomozaki and Fuuka is still much further along than Mimimi and Tomozaki. The last thing I will mention is explored in greater detail in a later side story, but the reality of Mimimi and Tomozaki's relationship is that it is unbalanced in favor of Mimimi leaning on Tomozaki. The light novel refers to it as "carrying her emotional baggage". While both Fuuka and Mimimi admire Tomozaki for his growth and serve as sounding boards for issues that trouble him, Fuuka is the only one he feels comfortable with going into greater emotional depth for his own deepest fears. Whether about being true to himself, his relationship with Hinami, or any number of other things, she's earned his trust enough to serve as a confidant in a way that Mimimi hasn't quite managed yet.
None of this is to say Mimimi isn't a perfectly viable option. With a few tweaks in the story here and there he could have easily ended up choosing her instead of Fuuka. That's the beauty of the character writing for me. There is enough depth in the 5 main female characters in the series for Tomozaki to end up with any of them under the right circumstances. It just so happened that in this version of the story the author wrote that it ends up being Fuuka he chooses (thus far). That's just the nature of relationships.
I feel bad for Mimimi losing just like everybody else. I love her character and want to see her win for once too.
I hope this explanation helps contextualize the relationships in greater detail and convinces someone reading it that the series is worth continuing even if you are disappointed that Mimimi lost this time. The series didn't suddenly become trash overnight just because your favorite character lost. If you are dropping it because your favorite character lost, you probably didn't care enough for everything else the series is doing as a character driven drama focused on self-improvement and relationships to make me it worth your while.
Sorry for the long rant, it's just frustrating to see so much flame (not you specifically
@TheMageDalamar) from so many people for a series I have come to love over dumb weeb waifu wars BS. It's a great story regardless of Tomozaki's choice, I just wish people more people would recognize that instead of reflexively flaming it over his choice.
