So i wanna know if the anime changed something about how it ended and how it's told in the light novel.
I didn't feel that the anime was trying to be more serious about the Kikuchi thing and i feel like a lot that's told before the play of Kikuchi's work it's just like something minor when i think it's not like that ESPECIALLY WITH THE AOI'S SISTER THING, so i really want to know more about how's written in the LN.
Yes, the anime changes quite a few things in the ending. The biggest one being some of Tomozaki's internal monologue regarding Mimimi. I think the LN version is superior to the anime version.
In the light novel since Tomozaki is cognizant of Mimimi's feelings for him, he doesn't want to lean on her because he is worried that he will fall for her if she comforts him, kind of like a rebound girl, which isn't fair to her. Despite that, his emotions start going haywire when she grabs hold of him and he can feel his emotions taking control over his logical side when she interrupts his train of thought by blurting out that Kikuchi is in the library. Mimimi might even recognize that herself, although it is based off of Tomozaki's perspective, so we could be reading into something being there that isn't.
Tomozaki's conversation with Fuuka is pretty close to the LN. It is worth remembering that the play is Fuuka's story told from her perspective. So, her decision to pair Libra (Tomozaki) with Alucia (Aoi) is her way of rejecting Tomozaki. That's why the series spends so much time on the play as part of Fuuka's story arc. Here's my explanation for the importance of the play from another forum thread: Every single time they sit down to make changes together it is because something happened to Fuuka that directly preceded the change. Did the class accept Tomozaki's suggestion to do an original work based on Fuuka's story for their play? Kris is excited about exploring the outside world from her garden. Did Fuuka crash and burn when trying to direct things without Tomozaki's help? Kris realizes the outside world is also ugly and harsh at times. Did Tomozaki show her a way to make friends outside of school? Kris decides to make flower garlands for a living, since she loves doing so, just like Fuuka loves to write stories. Every change reflects a change in Fuuka's emotions from real life events.
The other big difference is that Tomozaki tells Aoi that he plans to take her somewhere later as part of his promise to show her how to enjoy life from the season 1 climax. If they make a season 3, I am guessing it will be shown as a flashback, but Aoi's sister thing is definitely a major future plot point. The author didn't drop it there for no reason.

@Seansy Hey thanks for the fast reply, gonna ask some questions here:
I think the play and all his development was fine, didn't notice anything wrong there. The thing that intrigues, and on some point bothers me, it's that they finished the anime without resolving some some sub-issues behind (The Aoi's Sister thing, The Fumiya confession to Tomozaki about Aoi, all the after-conclusion with the Erika's arc, etc.). Hope they have planned some sort of OVAs or s3 cuz that feels really bare imo.
Questions are:
- Has Mimimi just give up with all the "tomozaki likes me" matter? It seems like that, but they didn't concrete that on a 100% so i have some minor doubts about it.
- Is there some audience feedback about the festival play? Would be cool to hear something about it.
- Is Tsugumi important in some sense? Feels like a void character with just only one interaction on all the season.

Everything you mentioned get addressed more later in the LN. The anime ended here because it was a good place to stop at in the series for a seasonal climax. Depending on the episode count, a 3rd or 4th season will start addressing those issues. Season 2 ends at volume 7 in the LN if you want to read ahead.
We know for sure Mimimi still likes him through volume 9. Beyond that, we don't know for sure. I would guess she does, as she said, she can surprisingly be serious about that type of thing, but she also said she won't like him forever either.
There actually is an after party for the play, it would be nice if they showed it in season 3, but who knows if they will. There are some good interactions in it between Fuuka and Tomozaki as well as Fuuka and Aoi. It also shows the positive reception from the rest of the class and other people that saw it.
Gumi is just a minor character to show how people that are the opposite of effort like Tomozaki and Aoi act. She hasn't played a significant part in the plot thus far. Just a random coworker.

@Seansy Thanks for your answers. I guess im just gonna wait for a announcement of season 3 or something, i'm not a reader after all but if nothing happens maybe i'll read the LN.
Also, watch out for spoilers without the spoiler tag, maybe you wanna edit that comment.

@SFPunishment Appreciate the heads up. Hopefully it gets a 3rd season.

So, the ship with Kikuchi shouldn't be seen as the end of the romantic relationship in the series, but rather the current stage? From what I can see, Mimimi is quite popular, but I'm afraid that she will end up in the same prison as Rem and other similar characters.

You are correct that it is the current stage. Although I will note that Mimimi is highly unlikely to end up with Tomozaki in the main story as the author created an entire AU side story manga with her as his primary love interest from her perspective. End game will either be Aoi, Fuuka, or Tomozaki ending the series single. The only way I can see him ending up with Mimimi is if it was in some time skipped epilogue after the events of the main story concluded.

That is, the manga dedicated to her is perceived as a full-fledged canonical route, and not just a manga for fans? But do you think that Aoi's main opponent will still be Kikuchi? I just personally find her quite boring and secondary compared to Mimimi and Aoi.

It is basically a what-if alternate universe side story separate from the main story. In it, Mimimi quits track to pursue being a model instead of competing in the student council election.
Kikuchi will get more time to develop in the future, it might change your opinion of her. First relationships are often tricky to navigate.
If you are interested I can give a spoiler light summary preview of the content in the future volumes if you are considering reading ahead. I think the LNs are better than the anime.
Aoi's character is explored more in the latest 2 LN volumes 10 and 11. She is still featured in 8 and 9, with some more hints about her character mixed in, but the series focuses on other things in those 2 volumes more.

No, don't. At this point I'm only interested in Mimimi because she seems more significant to the plot (besides Aoi of course) than the very stereotypical Kikuchi. If I understand correctly, at the time of Volume 9 she is still positioned as a love interest, even if not the main one?
