i was under the impression that all the girls with halo are immortal and hence don't die even when being shot. they are basically like angels.

All students are near immortal. It will take a shit ton of effort to injure them, that is, unless their halo is shattered which may cause a student to die.

they use real ammo and real gun. if a student gets shot, she can't die but can feel the pain/can bleed.

no they all use real ammo its just these guys are very hard to kill

To be precise, they were not avatars The reason the students were so okay is because the students were hit by legal bullets from stores Recently, illegal bullets have been released which can cause death to students.

@LotteWeiss I think it's a possibility I think there must be another weapon that can kill students But the student organization controls the illegal sale of weapons.

Besides the bomb, it's stated that a fall from high enough or freezing would kill a student. So I think it's fair to assume that any big enough impact that destroys the body would kill you.

But we still don't know the extent to how invulnerable the students are, just that killing someone in Kivotos is incredibly hard and it's clear that ordinary people don't have access to anything that could potentially kill someone.
