Why does Makie keep getting abused so much?

There's a gag I found in Negima that I found annoying, it was funny for the first few episodes but later on it got repetitive, what did Makie ever to to everyone? I get she's not very smart come on she's too pure to be treated like that. Damn Ayaka...

I feel the same way with the bipolar disorder Asuna has. She is abhorrent nearly every time she is onscreen. But yes, I also agree Makie is treated pretty unfairly.
