(on serious note, there are answers to your questions I'm sure. but we don't have them yet from watching the first season. all you need to remember is that we don't like rachel.)
Me too, but I now watched the last episode of 1s and wtf is wrong with people, why do they hate Rachel? I never hated her but now I like her even more. Her thoughts, selfishness, humanity, jealousy everything about her is much more relatable than Baam, he's the ideal hero, she's the human. And she didn't even want to kill him at first I love her hesitation when she talked to Baam.
Yeah I didn't aswer you question but I had to write my thoughts somewhere.

FUG only appeared in the second season, so the explanation in s2 is all that you need to know for now (so that it's an organization that's against the king of the tower and they are considered bad guys by the other Regulars)

@DoobieSam So they didn't explain the FUG thing on S1? I remember the final scene was rachel pushing him out of a cliff or something, and that's it. There was a timeskip, then?

@karemi_ Ah, I see. So that's why I was so confused, I don't remember anyone except the MC and the girl with the flower hairpin. How did the MC get powerful, again? He got that katana, and what did he do after that? I remember him becoming very powerful in S1 but I can't recall the reasons why.

yes, big time skip. last we saw Bam, he was helped up by the one-eye woman with the staff, who told him to get a grip and accept that Rachel pushed him. we can only assume that she is FUG and has given him the rundown. we just haven't seen it

Switch the genders and you wouldn’t be saying this shit
they’re essentially a rebel group that opposes the rule of Jahad and the ten family leaders. they aren’t mentioned at all until s2 so it’s not all the surprising you don’t know about them. there’ll be more information about them as the series goes on!
About FUG, I tried to avoid any significant spoilers, just a general lore about their structure and purpose:
But most of this information was only explained at around the end of the current arc (and related SIU blogposts).
So FUG is a mix between The Resistance, mafia and a religious cult. Its main stated purpose is insurrection against Jahad Empire and 10 Great Families, though their deeper purpose is explained later in the series. FUG hasn't been the only anti-Jahad force in the Tower, just the only significant force that still remains as the organized force.
FUG is both decentralized and still has a clear hierarchy. On the one hand they still maintain their original structure they had during a more turbulent time of the ancient War. On the other hand they incorporated a lot of the smaller anti-Jahad groups and generally work with whoever stands against the regime, that includes various mafia groups and others doing illegal activities. That's a lot of people and they rarely agree on even one thing they have in common.
Agents\Servants
On the bottom of FUG are various agents, partisans, guerilla fighters and so on. They might work in semi-independent groups, or alone. Some receive direct orders from above, some are just technically allied. Various criminal groups that work with FUG use it mostly as a cover, but in return make a lot of money to the organization. In fact, FUG has more money than almost any Great Family. On the other hand there are servants - highly motivated zealots that unquestionably follow the will of various FUG Executives and\or Slayers.
Executives
These are the official, upper rank members of FUG that work directly for the Slayers\Elders. They are usually Rankers (all known executives are at least Rankers, and some are even High Rankers). The Executives usually act like officers, interpreting the will of their personal masters, and passing direct orders to the various agents\servants to do the job. They usually don't act directly unless ordered so by their master. They only follow the will of their master and nobody else (even going as far as directly acting against other FUG members if so required).
Slayers
Officially FUG is built around Slayers - the strongest and most motivated FUG fighters that have sworn to destroy some specific part of Jahad Empire. There are eleven Slayer seats, each targeting one of the 10 Great Families + Jahad. There are seven Slayers at the time of the series, and 4 more seats are currently vacant. The Slayers are all High Rankers, and lead a massive retinue and independent personal armies within FUG. They are completely independent and can basically do whatever they want. Although they still have to be vetted by the FUG Elders and the de-facto FUG Leader and a First Slayer, Grace Mirchea Luslec.
Slayer Candidate
To become a Slayer, AFAIK an individual must be officially promoted by some of the higher-ups of FUG - either one of the active Slayers, or the Elders, or the higher Executives that report directly to them. After becoming a candidate, the said individual will have to prove themselves until they are officially confirmed by all FUG Elders. Most of Slayer Candidates start at Ranker level - it is exceedingly rare for someone to become a candidate while still as a mere Regular.
Elders
The most ancient FUG members and\or original founders that are still alive, despite being hunted for tens of thousands of years. To still live today, they must be enormously strong and smart enough to avoid danger. They hide so well that most don't even know they exist, and they aren't even accounted for in the Tower's Ranking. They are de-facto leaders of FUG and decide all important matters for the entire organization. They can also pass direct judgement on even the Slayers (and are strong enough to do so if needed).
First Slayer
The official founder of FUG is Grace Mirchea Luslec, who also acts as the First (no.1) Slayer. Most of the information about him is a spoiler, and he is only briefly mentioned in the early arcs (though he gets to act later on). He is not an Irregular (like 10 Great Family Heads, Jahad or Urek), but he is probably one of the strongest (if not the strongest) single "regular" High Ranker in the Tower. But despite that, within the FUG itself he mostly acts as a mediator between the various factions and between other Elders as a "first among equals".

I mean he became very powerful mostly due to being Irregular and his training. Then there's a gigantic timeskip and now he's back, being even more powerful because of

why? Nothing would change, good character writing is good character writing, gender is irrelevant

@Mayumai I call cap. Everyone hates Rachel cause she’s a bitch. It’s not about if she’s well written because I can agree with that, but she’s clearly written to be hated. If you think otherwise, I have no idea what to say.

So you're telling me my subjective opinion is false bc it's not the same as yours? 😂 well you can hate her, but I can't hate well written characters bc they're evil that makes them even better
