Is it worth playing the VN from the start after watching this?

Despite the popular opinions I've read in the episode discussions this didn't really do much for me. Didn't feel much for the characters or what was happening. Overall just thought it was average at best but seeing how people say this is the number 1 rated VN I really want to see if its worth getting the VN.

If you didn’t like the story or characters out of sheer lack of attachment or interest to them then don’t force yourself to spend even more time on them through a Visual Novel. Thats just my two sense, but if you liked it a lot and you hearing people say its not even as close to how good it can be then yeah try it.
