Overall a very enjoyable anime from a time when I was a kid. I used to watch a lot of these types of shows back in the day with my older sister so it brings back some fond memories.

Persia was such a cute, funny and endearing character, and so was fairy, but there are some things that let me wondering, why and how was persia living in africa? some flashbacks show she was already there since a very early age, yet in the episode that features the quintuplets kumi mentions that the transformed persia looks a lot like persia when she was younger, it catches my attention how the series was so ambiguos about persia situation and never bothered to clarify such detail, also how persia's mission to collect love energy was kind of pointless since most of the things she got involved in where simply the result of the daily interactions with her close ones or the result of her desire to help people simply because she is a good girl, and how at some point she gains a new power that she uses to save kishin from burning but that is never brought or used again.
I liked how fairy was a separate person from persia instead of simply being her older version, and she having her own romantic interest solidifies this. The ending felt a little sad on account of her separation from gaku, riki and goken, and at the same time hopeful, a review i read describes persia as a coming of age history, and i think the ending fits really well such description and examplifies a great true in life: there are things in life one cant change no matter how much you desire the contrary, but separation doesnt need to be permanent and the hope of reuniting again felt like such a precious feeling to end the series on, all in all i liked it, i give it a 7 out of 10.

So I guess we're leaving off on a cliffhanger. Last episode had Gaku, Riki and their grandfather leave for Africa. I will admit that scene where Gaku thought he saw Persia and then she fades out into the background, was kind of emotional. 😭

She still can use her magic one last time though, so it makes me wonder if there's an OVA, movie or something of that sort that continues that plot line. Hmmm. 🤔 Also the kappa's turned into humans for some reason.

Either way great anime! Yes the story was a mess but I really love the fact that it just enjoyed doing its own thing, whether it made sense or not. More anime need to be like that. 🤣
