 Kadokawa opened an official website for a television anime adaptation of Masakuni Igarashi's Mattaku Saikin no Tantei to Kitara manga on Friday. The website also revealed the main cast, director, teaser visual (pictured), and a special promotional video. The anime is scheduled to premiere in 2025.Junichi Suwabe (Great Pretender) and Kana Hanazawa (Bakemonogatari) are starring as Keiichirou Nagumo and Mashiro, respectively. Rion Kujou (Yuusha ga Shinda!, Hagure Yuusha no Aesthetica) is directing the anime. Igarashi (Senryuu Shoujo) began drawing the mystery comedy manga in Dengeki Maoh magazine in April 2016. Kadokawa shipped the 14th volume in July 2023 and will release its 15th volume on August 27. The series has a cumulative 700,000 cumulative copies of its volumes in circulation. Synopsis Nagumo Keeichirou was a genius high-school detective. No case was complex enough for him. But what happens to genius detectives when they get older? Now 35, with bad hips, running a failing detective agency with no cases to solve and struggling to pay the rent, he's at a dead end. In comes a high school girl in his office who says she wants to work with him. With her help, will the out-of-touch, old-fashioned Nagumo get back the fire of his youth? | Looks fun ! Strangely enough, the atmosphere reminds me a little of Binbougami ga, I guess Kana Hanazawa has something to do with it lol. |

| An unexpected title from the author of Senryuu Shoujo. This is the first time I've heard about this work, but the synopsis and trailer seems intriguing. It seems that shows about ojisan detectives and schoolgirls are the quintessence of current LN tropes. @EcchiGodMamster It's 2024, so apparently we're finally getting to the '00s nostalgia. |
