We all know season 2 isn’t great and has poor reception so I was wondering what people think is most likely to happen in the future after this season

My guess is either ToG anime adaptation will not get renewed for a season 3 like GoH got vaulted

Or

They get a new studio for season 3

I really doubt they’d stick with the same studio if they were to renew it, and the longer this season goes on the more negative reception it gets and the less likely it is to get a new season. I don’t understand why the hate is this bad tho since even some generic isekai garbage will get renewed for a new season despite being unwatchable (like how shield hero keeps getting new seasons some how)

Because it seems like people enjoy these generic ass bs isekais for some reason. Idk how shit works in Japan but I'm guessing they wouldn't make more seasons of something that isn't popular or doesn't bring in the cash in one way or another.

Ngl, it pisses me off everytime I see some shitty ass isekai nr.999 getting a second season or even worse, multiple seasons while you have so many great, interesting, unique anime with only one season and usually just 12 episodes not getting anything for multiple years or decades.

I missed the part where I said that I hate anything isekai related. You could just take a quick look at my list and see that I have isekai anime that I did like and enjoy a lot. But it seems reading is hard, so you do you. There are the good isekais and there are the seasonal cash grab nr.x isekais.

I can’t speak for what will happen after, but in the present, Season 2 will only get worse from here on. Quality has been dropping episode by episode and will only continue to go downhill now that we know it will be running for two consecutive cours (I knew it would be two cours, but I thought they would be split). I wasn’t a huge fan of first season, but at least it had soul; S2 looks/feels generic and has been a disaster.

Because TOG is different from most mainstream anime out there, unlike Solo Leveling that imo is way similar to your average generic power fantasy anime and it got hugely popular and way better animation studio(a shame imo cuz i wish TOG got the same treatment) It's a very long fantasy story with a multitude characters and storylines, although i don't think this is the reason, for me it's the lackluster animation and direction that's causing hate, but i believe the 2nd cour arc will please people if the animation improves even the slightly, because It's still one of my favorite arcs in the series. Anyways if Tower of God gets cancelled after this season it will be one of the biggest wasted potential stories of all time in anime because were talking about a manwha phenomenon that spans literally over 500 chapters and after this season it is arguably where it becomes a true masterpiece and all of us TOG fans have been praying it gets animated to this point

well cour been confirmed and that means season 3 will happen only Japan dictates the future of the anime if people like season 2 in Japan it will continue the west opinion don't matter for future season of any show from Japan, Isekais are just more of Japan work culture rules of overworking and less free time where they want to be gone and be in another world where they might be happy, Japan workers are all miserable from there work rate hours that's why Isekais are popular in Japan.

I think we will get a s3 given it remains popular. Ratings do not matter that much as to even getting a new season.

I’m really hoping that the budget was saved for the workshop, Ik it’s unlikely but it would be the best case scenario at this point

Season 3* but yeah, I do agree reviews don’t matter much but if majority of people don’t like it then it’s way less likely to get another season it’s happened before

I’d prefer a complete restart with a competent studio tbh. It needs the solo leveling treatment.

Even if it gets a season 3 I wouldn’t count on a new studio.

I wonder why the studio even changed, maybe that's why there was a long gap, perhaps the old studio didn't see potential or something. Or maybe Crunchyroll likes to crunch for their productions and they flat out said no.

Tower of God S2 is actually doing fine. Has more likes than s1 on crunchyroll it will probably get renewed.

Probably because either the previous studio was already booked with other projects, or Sega (Telecom’s parent company) didn’t see any incentives in investing in a new season.

looks good to me so it just depends on how many people are watching it. I mean, come on people, there's not even half as many fight scenes in this season. did it really require top of the line animation?

@Animorphimagi Nobody said anything about "top of the line" animation. Just decent ones.

I mean having a bad season 2 really hurts the show because it forces anyone wanting to get into it having to trudge through it to get to S3 which may or may not be a different studio. These days 24 episodes of garbage is a lot to get through for anybody but even less for people who have less time. Shitting the bed on S2 really hurts the show especially because one of the story's major early climax is the workshop battle arc. At this point, it's pretty clear they're going to fuck it up which only forces people to wait longer for the next major story climax which by then people will have moved on (again, assuming they had any plans of doing it "right" anyway).

Season 2 arc shouldve been an OVA. It was the most boring arc and does no justice for the entire story.

@EndlessNights9 ts annoying as hell man. waiting so many years for this and now having to wait even longer for the next season if there even will be one. webtoons have not been treated well. tog didnt get the animation, goh story was completely messed up. its tough but i hope the webtoon fans that watch on crunchyroll are enough to get us a proper season 3
