According to NHK, the unnamed 30-year-old woman was recently taken to the prosecutor's office after an Ousama Ranking author found her tweet from a year ago, where she "explains" her discomfort with his manga by accusing the author of pedo things and Japanese alt-right affiliations. The author decided that this was too much for him and simply sued for libel. It is not known how the case ended, but the accused has already stated that she simply wanted to take her anger out on the author because she thought that the author of Ousama Ranking allegedly plagiarized her favorite manga. That is, she actually admitted that she deliberately lied. Unless, of course, she is going to accuse the author of her favorite manga of the same thing, well, you get the idea.

What do you think about this? Is this something excessive or do you approve of it? This is the first time I've heard of someone suing haters on Twitter.

Japan is stricter on things like defamation and you actually can sue someone for talking shit abt you on the internet(there are some cases where youtubers sue haters for talking shit). and from what I've seen the mangaka is a rather emotional person, so it's not really unexpected.
i hope he's well tho since i heard that it got to him really bad mentally.

@R_____________a Well, lately the Japanese have been increasingly speaking publicly about issues that might previously have been considered intimate or controversial. At least when it comes to the celebrities I follow. For example, the author of Mushoku Tensai has started to say from time to time that people have no right to attack authors and demand that they stop their work just because they personally don't like their content.
