Does anyone know who the mysterious caller was? Was there ever an answer to that in the manga?

Best guess … someone who worked for the mother of the female MC

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

rightt i thought so too... but at the same time why would any of them do it anyways? was there really a point to those calls? it felt so forgettable that when the phone calls come in im like confused for a sec

I thought it was their manager, Kurokawa. She would know both of their phone numbers and head office pushing for either of them being top candidates for a transfer. She just gave warnings on how they should act to make sure to be convincing to home office they are getting married.

@iirayuki haha for real, after a few episodes without a call or the calls being mentioned I completely forgot about them until the last episode. It's actaully crazy how both MCs were so unbothered by these calls given how they overthink literally everything, but not the caller that knows their secret and could easily reveal it which would've been devastating for them if it happened sometime before the end.

yes I agree, it seems they really forgot about it during the series and didn't really develop this "side story".
Tho my theory is that, Ohara and Rika were the first to "instantly" get married as soon as they heard of the transfer, which looked pretty suspicious to Keisuke's eyes, also when he says something like " well the only solution not to get transferred is getting married right away". So I guess he started making these suspicious calls because he wanted to know how the plan between the two developed, because deep down he also didn't want to get transferred. Kinda like he was jealous of them.
Tho these are just my thoughts, overall I loved this anime so much
