Ah, so even this show has its maid cafes and festival.

Plenty of fun and they got a lot of people to participate in this. Speaking of which, I'm starting to like Serina's character more and more. Uka also had her adorable maid outfit on so this was definitely a special occasion for her.

Uka has done what all kids who struggle to fit in want to do, made herself valuable to the popular kids. People are staring to look up to her and see her as a leader in the class. So cool she got to come up with the festival plans! Generally speaking, I see a ton of growth from her even down to how she talks now. She uses more slang and is more free flowing in her dialogue, even being sort of witty with Miura. She’s really coming out of her shell and I love that!

That bike crash scene is killing me man she so 🐶 💔 really love her to bits

Omg omg omg make Uka is sooo pretty. Once she gets that confidence going she gonna be a problem, watching out Serina 😂 love she and Miura’s little nap/timeout scenes, but I’m also really happy she’s determined to take an active role in she and Miura conversations rather than just being passive and letting Miura initiate convos

I’m so tired of these jealous hoes in this series talking shit about Uka behind her back and trying to dirty mac her with Kai. Like do they really think any dude would want a girl who just sits around saying nasty shit about other people all day? Get a job you losers.

Sexual harassment live on stage is certainly a choice. That announcer was creepy af. This was also a big moment for Uka because she’s learning to go with the vibe, but she has to learn that not EVERY vibe should be followed.

Good episode, some more big growth from Uka, I’m so proud of her like an older brother.

Those darn pesky adults making all those rules in MY anime !? xD

Ishimori really did step out of her comfort zone didn't she, that is if she even had one to begin with, props to her for sticking with it to the end, and also props to the classmates to going on with it and supporting her along the way, i mean it's all of theirs class project after all, but still.

The caretaker-kun did a good job too ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

It's sad how Uka attracts a fresh batch of bullies every week, and it's probably going to get worse now that Kai's practically painted a target on her back with both of his stunts. Adorable how she decided to make his secret hideout spot hers too though.

This episode restores my faith in this anime. I'm not so innocent to think that this whole event will go smooth as I want it to be, but I'll save my complain for later episodes. For now, I'll just enjoy the moment.

One thing that catch my eyes is that there are symbolism and metaphorical scene, much deeper than I expect from this kind of anime. The airplane flies, the bird flies, and so on. I'm not expert in this kind of things but my own interpretation is that it's equivalent of "ship sails" in fandom slang.

this episode was pretty badly done. seemed like it was shoving so many different events all at once and they're just teleporting everywhere without any cohesion. animation quality also seems much worse.

Loved the episode. Loved Kai at Crazy Cool saying "leave Ishimori to me", in front of everyone, burst outta laughter. Hated that last scene, with everyone bullying her till she cried. Loved that Kai came to the rescue though, hoped he would've called them on their BS, but he kinda does that everytime so, i can understand him being quiet after being told by Uka that she'd be fine on her own, although i know she's kinda saying that to try to not be a burden on Kai. She's just so adorable. Loved that Kai actually took back what he said about not being romantically interested in Uka, excited to see how their relationship would turn out to be!

100%. It felt like they kept switching scenes for every phrase, and that made it hard to follow the side characters (like, I could barely tell who was complaining at the beginning and who was apologising later).
And the animation looked like powerpoint. I have no idea what happened to this episode, the previous one was fine. Hope this was just a blip.

She's fired up and in "Yes to all" mode. I think not even Kai would keep up. At this rate, they'll marry for sure.

Also, what is it with anime and planes? Though, it was a good one, the Airbus A350.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

The animation style that this episode went for was a bit unexpected. The creative frames were pretty nice, although the lack of movement in those scenes compared to previous episodes did feel unusual. Maybe a episode director's choice or a lower priority episode, maybe?

Either way, I did enjoy seeing more people helping out Uka after seeing how dedicated she was in the preparation for the school festival. Her classmates are starting to see her in a better light and made sure to help her out when needed.

Sadly, that doesn't mean the bullying is going to go away as she was ganged up and intimidated by a group of jealous brats after hearing Miura saying that he was in charge of her in the "Fool & Cool" video. Miura didn't waste his time in coming to Uka's side to help her out when needed, including stopping the live stage announcer from leering at her while she was wearing her class's cafe maid outfit.

Her progression, while dealing with the odd setback or two, is heading in the right direction.

It was nice to see how Uka's classmates supported her as she stepped out of her comfort zone and started to see her as a leader, yes they are a good class. This episode had some cool references (Dragon Ball, Ashita no Joe and Lum from Urusei Yatsura).

It seems like in every episode, Uka will always face jealousy from idiots because of her closeness to Kai. Luckily, Kai knows how to handle it. And Kai's role as Uka's caretaker is just a front: telling others to stay away from her or interrupting on stage is no doubt because he wants her for himself.

So my 3 observations:

  1. I have never seen this many gals/gyaru in a shoujo anime like this. That meeting on the rooftop was like a “Legion of Gals” conference. Very interesting.

  2. I think Kai looked-up and finally realized he caught feelings for Ishimori (which was of course inevitable). It will be interesting to see how long it takes Ishimori to recognize this and have enough confidence to seal the deal

  3. I really want Tomoya to play spoiler to Kai and go for Ishimori himself—if only to keep Kai from being over-confident that Ishimori will keep coming back. Serina pretty much served this purpose for Ishimori and is what started motivating Uka to be more confident and assertive over Kai. We need to see this on Kai’s end.

What a strange and disjointed episode. Like it was trying to cram two episodes into one. Random and surprising happenings one after another. I'm having trouble following what people are feeling because we're getting scenes without proper sequels. Still, at least it feels like some progress is being made...

@HikarieChan agreeeeed so many shortcuts in this episode and sooo rushed!! the impact of the final moment didn't hit as hard for me because of it. for the comedic bits, some of the shortcuts totally worked but for the emotional bits it was a big let down. hopefully the quality doesn't stay like this.

Probably one of the most alive school festivals I’ve seen in an anime, I loved getting to see everyone in the class interacting with the planning and prep, along with bits of the rest of the school scurrying about, I especially liked the short moments with the courtyard folks, funny stuff there, also I believe that may have been an Urusei Yatsura reference during one scene, if so very cool. But unfortunately no matter how stupid fun this school festival is, and how perfect it was going for Uka, of course things couldn’t stay that way after Kai’s words on that “Crazy Cool” thing, what he said was sweet but it garnered the wrong reaction from bad actors.

Thankfully tho, Kai showed these hoes up when he walked out of that storage room hand in hand with Uka, that’s how you make a statement to these people lol. Also Uka had some great moments in this one, the bicycle crash turned into a sweet bit, and her enjoying the festivities in the maid outfit was really cute, she wears it well.

Wow, the art and animation quality took a huge nosedive this episode. They literally couldn't afford to animate the characters moving their mouth at some points lol.

Also, this episode felt like everything was on 2x speed. There was next to no depth of anything that was going on because scenes kept jumping from one part to the next. I like that Ishimori stepped out of her shell and is striving to become more independent, but Kai being labeled as "Ishimori's caretaker" and stepping in to have Ishimori drop out of the festival event made me cringe. He's acting like an overprotective parent to a baby. They're in high school, for goodness sake. She volunteered to participate in the festival event in Serina's stead, let her speak up for herself...

Direction on this ep was bizarre; felt like a totally different show... especially combined with all the cost-cutting shots. The weird Looney Tunes-esque effect they used when dude was chasing the girl out of the classroom was the only thing that felt well animated, but it also felt completely out of place...

This episode is a such a mixed for so so many reasons, I don't even know where to start from.

I guess the best moment for me is when Kai mad the announcement in front of everyone in the school. It was the first time I legitimately spat my coffee as a reaction. This guy really doesn't care about what's acceptable and not. Something like this can be a death in the highschool environment.

Of course people started using that to bully her in no time at all. Ans then her decision to replace Serina shocked me so much I nearly spat my coffee for the second time. On one hand I understand that she's trying to be like Kai, but putting yourself out like this... Come on girl, you need to have some self-preservation instincts.

Speaking of which, what was that public bullying by the speaker? I'm surprised that Kai didn't put him in his place.

Of course, the worst part was the abysmal animation. While it did always look like something a person can make in their basement given some time, this time around it gave Blue Lock Season 2 animation a run for its money.

To end things on a positive note, I do like that Uka is going beyond being simply infatuated with Kai and is trying to develop as an independently strong person. After all, she does have a lot of good qualities, but her confidence is holding her back. It kind of makes the show feel like a character-driven story about Uka more than the typical love story that's mostly about the guy she likes.

So here we are at the infamous episode that's in every romance anime.. The festival episode. Whilst there was nothing much that was new for this kind of episode, I did love the chemistry with Miura and Ishimori however, and the whole "leave Ishimori to me" line was very unexpected but extremely cute to see. The end line by Miura "I take back what I said" was a nice surprise as well. Whilst its obvious that Miura likes her romantically, its not so clear to see in the traditional sense as we can't see what he is thinking.. plus he is quite the mysterious character to begin with. Having him basically confirm at the end that he does or is starting to see her in that way, makes me very happy indeed.

A few points that I did want to mention was the animation and pacing. Festival episodes are notoriously bad when it comes to animation just because of the sheer amount of things in one scene, people included. Its very difficult to have that many people animated along with the atmosphere, objects and everything else along with it so I'm not surprised the quality dropped this episode. Its pretty standard but I would've liked to have seen the opposite of course. The same thing goes for pacing. It felt quite rushed at times and was some what difficult to follow but nevertheless, overall it was a good episode for the development of our beloved characters.

I really am in love with this show. Top 3 this season for me anyway for sure, maybe even top 2.. we shall see. Looking forward to next episode. See you guys then.

I'm happy for Ishimura that she is starting to come off her shell. She's becoming more confident.

She however will have a long way to go before any romance between her and Miura becomes plausible. I'm now annoyed more with Miura because right now, he must stop looking after Ishimori for her to grow. She is right at the point of breakthrough, and he is not helping her.

If ever romance between them blossoms, it might only happen in season 1 because of the slow pace.

This episode felt like it had a different director than the previous episodes. Some of the shots, art and transitions seemed creative. However, it felt way too choppy and the first half of the episode was painfully boring. It kind of felt like a recap of events we have yet to see. It felt odd watching this episode, tbh.

This anime is turning to be mediocre sadly, i thought i would like this anime more because of the way it covers bullying and redemption and have a happy ending but so far the bullying has been super unrealistic. This episode was kinda stupid, i mean alot of anime and some anime that i enjoyed had a maid cafe episode but like cmon it did not suit this anime, And Kai giving so many mixed messages he's just such a badly written character. And him calling out Ishimori he just reminds me of one of those Eboys on Roblox. I think i am the wrong target audience tbh because this seems like more of a female fantasy as in "loser girl" gets picked up with big strong man popular jock guy and they fall in love. Honestly doesn't appeal to me. But i don't drop anime so we finishing it.
