Nagi on the verge of birth with Nio and Sakura on tow to his granny's place, thankfully there's Harada and Naganuma to help out on the way.

While the assassins on the bridges are ousted one after the another, Yotaro still holding his ground against Kondo right in the heart of his dojo, with his mental fortitude lacking against the latter, it takes one clean shot of confidence unwavering, and Kondo, despite having respect for him, has to take Yotaro down, whether he likes it or not.

Yotaro's meeting with Naozumi being the adopted brother to the latter's family, that he's given a second chance in life, and his parents cherished him all the more whilst Naozumi just keeps offending each and every time, until his ego spurred him to kill a person, which goes against all morale of a samurai. From then on, his spirit of rebellion only serves to give Yotaro the opportunity to inherit the Kyohachi dojo from Naozumi's father, though things would've been different if he wasn't taken in. Clearly, Naozumi's samurai blood runs in his veins, and him choosing to leave the family to give Yotaro all he was destined for, it certainly was an irony giving him the life he always wanted: a wife, a respectable samurai school and whatsoever.

In many ways, Yotaro is both a blessing and a curse of his biology.

It was so good seeing the background of Yotaro and Naozumi lives and how different they are from one another.

Kondo is really on a whole different level when using a real sword.

The flashback at the dying moment is nice but a little bit too late.

Yotaro cut down. Going for the finishing strike on Kondo but unable to land it. He was absolutely out matched in skill so it was really a latch ditch effort. Kondo slicing through Yotaro accordingly and ending their fight. The long flashback we get was very interesting. Seeing how Yotaro was adopted into this samurai family and how he struggled to fit in. Naozumi always being a punk his whole life even as a kid, having a loud mouth and killing that older man who mouthed off. Yotaro always feeling like an outsider in the family was very sad to see. I hope he made them all proud in his final moments here.

This was a pretty good episode. Yotaro's backstory took up the majority of it, though. Sad that he didn't even actually want the Dojo.

Nagi's about to give birth and Nio and Sakura have to carry her all the way to his gran's, fortunately, they encounter Harada and Naganuma on the way.

Yotaro and Kondo rematch, this time with steel blades; that changes things for Yotaro with hints of self-doubt. So he wasn't blood related to Naozumi but a homeless street urchin Naozumi's father saw potential in raising as a swordsman. Their one-sided sibling rivalry was set in motion, with Yotaro being the more obedient brother who's coddled by their parents in return. After Naozumi beats a challenger to death, his father is furious at how unchivalrous Naozumi is, but having killed a man, Naozumi gained a taste for blood. As both brothers become adults, Yotaro, being less arrogant, is designated the heir by their father. It's no wonder Naozumi has a particular hatred for the house and wanted it specifically burnt down. Yotaro, however, has felt guilty of taking things from his brother this whole time, and goes along with his brother's schemes as a result. Kondo proves he's the better one with steel as well as bamboo, he is reasonably upset that he had to fight Yotaro to the death.

in my honest opinion, nagi's face when talking to nio look like a sociopath with how she stares at nio. and poor sakura when nagi went into labor. i feel you. kondo's crying after cutting down guys like yataro continues to prove what a kind man kondo is. it pulls on my heartstrings. yataro's background coming into this episode does feel it came in too late and kinda feels a bit too long that i ended up not feeling sad or even care for the dude's death at all. not surprising to learn nozo was a bratty (and safe to say entitled, i guess) child tho.

The episodes as depressing as it gets. Learning about Yotaro, his regrets and his guilts. All he wished to not go back to streets and to live the live of beggar or poverty.

But the lack of communications between him and his brother, the wild nature of his brother, these factors bring about the ruins for there family and the happiness they deserved.
