A hidden gem!!!

I was going to watch "The boy and the heron" and this movie came as one of the results. The poster looked interesting so I decided to give this a go. I'm glad I did. I really loved it. They sprinkled the emotional scenes perfectly. It was like eating a dish with the perfect amount of salt. Iykwim. And yeah since I have never heard of it before, this movie was a hidden gem for me.

Not sure I’d consider it a hidden gem. Amongst his other works, I believe this one is generally considered his weakest.

I like it a lot. It's one of Hosoda's better movies; though, none have yet to top Wolf Children for me.

I'm conflicted on Belle. On one hand, the music, visuals, and character designs are all stunning. But on the other hand, the plot is a mess. It really falls apart at the "plot twist." Hosoda should have just stuck to the traditional Beauty and the Beast love story.

I liked "Belle" actually. Hosoda was trying to give the audience something different and I'm really glad he did. the soundtrack is beautiful and conveys so much intense emotions. Now, I get that people think that "Belle" has a messy plot and all but I don't think it's that messy. It's more dramatic and intriguing to me. That's just my opinion.
Also, I do admire "Wolf Children" but I have the same level of admiration for "the Boy and the Beast". I believe "The Boy and the Beast" should get some more exposure and recognition as one of Hosoda's many works.

watch his next upcoming film scarlet
