Hey everyone!

Don’t flame me for not being aware as to what direction season 3 and onwards is heading to as I haven’t read the manga or kept up to date with news on the new seasons. I finished season 2 but I remember it taking a different route than the first season which was intentional however I don’t remember exactly hating that, I just want to know if it’s worth the watch and I won’t be too confused out of my mind LOL.

Blue exorcist was the 2nd action anime to soft launch me into that entire genre, AOT being the 1st of course. I really miss getting to watch it for the first time 😪

Well as far as I know basically the second half of season 1 was not cannon to the manga because the anime ran out of source material to work with since the manga wasnt finished yet so they made up a new ending, season 2 just picks up where the canon material left off half way through season 1, as far as I know season 2 and everything after is accurate to the manga, now is it worth watching? Well that's up to you... It's not the same studio animating it as it was for the first season and it shows, the story is good but visually its not as good as the first 2 seasons, it also focuses more on emotional moments and character problems so there is less action... There is still action but the drama becomes more of the focus so take that as you would.

Not a fan of the story or writing at this point tbh and I really liked S1 and S2 but the route it's going in is just not doing anything for me.

Season 3 was meh, season 4 was good, and season 5 is the best one yet.

The manga is vastly superior, especially to season 3, which is a absolute disgrace to the source material.

You can read all of the manga for free on Mangaplus.

I'm a big fan of the show as a whole, but season 3 onwards has been better than I ever could have imagined.

I didn’t understand it: did you watch or not season 2?

If you did then yeah you should try to endure season 3 that is not good and then you’ll be rewarded with the fourth season that I’m watching it right now and it’s absolutely a masterpiece.

Instead if you did not watch season 2, than you have to decide yourself:
Are you willing to watch season 2 & 3 which are NOT good? If the answer is yes than go on.

As someone who has read the manga and watched the anime, you should just read the manga and not watch the show moving forward. When Studio VOLN took over, the animation was, I feel, all over the place and it doesn’t have the same feeling as it did with the first two seasons. Some elements that built the tension in the manga were rushed over in the show during the last season. If you have not read the manga yet, it’s still an okay-ish anime, although I don’t feel it is worth watching it any longer if you have read the manga.

Well, that seems lazy to me. LOL Kidding, buy yes especially 4-5. The last Season was BY FAR the best it has ever been, even if the last half was flashback. It really was strong storytelling.

I think it's worth it, because if you haven't read the manga it really isn't awful. But I would HEAVILY recommend reading the manga from the beginning once you finish. seasons 3&4 didn't do a great job at picking up what Kato (the author) was putting down. and season 5 didnt even adapt volume 24 (although it was still good for what it is). But anyway yeah finish the show then start the manga from the beginning.

Well, I would say if you don't care about the visual that should do the trick... but if you liked the visual of the first 2 seasons and the mangaka's style, you'll be disappointed 😅.
