Quite interesting to see Valentines in this show.

This episode also some slight mystery elements to it. Another tough battle also happens. It feels like they're pushing Unika to see what they can really do this season. I'm hoping those two Valentines make more appearances this season and not just show for this single episode.

Sin's just unbearable to watch at this point. He doesn’t care about how many people were endangered by Unika—he only cares about her like a teen boy going through puberty. Ridiculous, especially after talking big about saving everyone when he was the one who activated the Gear himself. Not sure if he’s even meant to be likable, or just there so I can hate him and appreciate side characters like Baiken for certain reasons.

Unika’s backstory isn’t moving at all after seeing her actions. Her family was probably liked because of the Gears, and now she’s threatening lives and even killing people. There’s no way I can care about how much she’s hurt or suffered—her actions just fuel my inner devil to admire the Gears’ handiwork.

And I think this Senator Nerville is the one who’s going to create the ultimate Gear or something using Sin and his mother’s blood that he’s took.

I get the feeling that Sol is going to get a lot of flack from Sin for shooting Unika. Little disappointed we didn't get a follow up on Axl low and what he's gotten himself into. I know it's a mystery on how Sin and Unika are somehow connected, given she seems to recall memories of when she was little every time she collides with Sin. I really hope they tell us soon who she is and what her relationship to Sin seems to be, that's the only part of the story that I'm just not really caring about. I want the show to start being more about the action and less about Sin and Unika.

BTW did Johnny confirm that Sol and Jack-O are married? (I mean I figured but it's never been downright confirmed)

Baiken asked what Johnny was doing there and he says he has a soft spot for married women. Few scenes later it is confirmed that Jack-O sent him there to help.

I honestly enjoyed the episode, is obvious that Sin burst has to be related to the handshake with that Politic from earlier

This show does put me on a moral dilemma because is obvious that Unika most likely is coming from a place of pain or experience from the future where Gears eventually when berserk at actually annihilated humanity, since they are talking about how advance their technology is and how it looks like someone manage to capture Axl last episode, they must be using him for Time Travel. So she has a point on that Gears need to be dealt with (Hell we already see an example of that with the Flame of Corruption need it to be destroy by Ashaka during the game otherwise Sol would have destroy the world)

But is just plain out stupid saying that will be the only possible downfall for humanity when it is obvious humanity will bring it on downfall, so once you eliminate the Gears, great now is everyone against everyone

I wonder how they will solve this conflict, hard to surpass Sol´s speech from Strive
Who gets to determine the value of humanity? Isn´t it selfish of mankind to survive in the first place?
So, even if it means the end of the world I´m not gonna let you go

TestamentGAWDS! WE GOT 2 FRAMES! TWO FRAMES! MORE THAN I EXPECTED! BAIKEN SUCH A BITCH MOM SHE LET THE GUARD OF DELILAH TO CORRUPTED FAUST AND PARADIGM LMAO (Now thinking about it all the 4 cameos in this scene are as untalkative as each other, seems fair)

I'm shocked the show is improving, just slightly but each episode are far better than the last so far. There remains a lot of mistakes and rushed elements and much of the writing is still confusing and unsincere, I don't buy that last convo of Sin and Unika at all and everything feels too cliche and boring melodrama for my sake.

The show right now actually uses the lore of GG properly and in interesting manners. Justice mentionned, yes siiiiiir. Sol is acknowledge as used to be part of the Holy Orders, absolutely based. This destroyed city is completely in line with what we know of the much of the world of GG is post crusades, it is stated that after the Crusades "most records in human history were lost" and that much of the world was obliterated. It was so bad the entire US were referred to as "Nation A" for most of the story before the events of The Butterfly and Her Gale, where Chipp and the nation of Zepp helps the former president to rebuild the country. Also insane to just bring back the fact Sin is a commander Gear, something which was completely ommitted from the story so far but makes sense cannonically. The only instances where we see Dizzy use her power as a command type Gear is in the GGXX Drama CD when Ino comes back in time to kill Ky during the battle of Rome and the consequences it bring. Sol becomes the leader of the Holy Order and Dizzy, having never met Ky, turns evil and bring back to life all the dead Gears and declare war on mankind like her mother's did. Showing Sin reviving not only a a Gear but a Megadeth Class Gear is hella cool and a reminder of how powerful this family is, or is supposed to be because he stil jobs to a few bullets but why not I'd just assume Unika's weapon is just really powerful.

A lot of emphasis on Elphelt who's shown less as a walking running gag and more of a character like she used to be pre-Strive. She's still the worst Valentine by far despite being now the most popular, I'd rather have Ram do her job instead. She definitely survive that blast also considering Ram tanked the same kind of shit back in Xrd and brushed it off, even if Raven was "apparently" there to save her (This anime isn't the first time GG lore shows weird inconsistencies).

Sol sniping Unika from afar with a mosin nagant is so out of character what in the hell even a GG meme shitpost wouldn't have thought about it. I know all weapons they use are magitech weapons because black tech was banned like 180 years ago and only trace of it are in Zepp but that rifle DEFINITELY didn't look like it was shooting magic at all.
Old school Sol would just have ran at her and Riot Stamp her ass but I guess it is logical he would have let Sin do negotiation and this was just a planB if it failed and it did, weird but acceptable.

Bridget track record: 23 years since first appearance, 0 impact in the story. I aspire to be as useless than she is lmao. Actual twitter screenshot farmer.

Thank god this episode acknowledge the fact our main characters are FAR BEYOND human powerlevel. Thank you Jack0 for reminding us you could have snapped these dudes in half if you weren't such a goober.

Baiken Ex Machina and Johnny Ex Machina obviously, considering everyone is following each other I wonder why they don't keep contact. Like Bridget they are more there to be upgraded cameos than real characters. I'm actually not that against it because both of them at this point are solved character, Baiken concluded her character arc at the end of Strive and Johnny was always just there being cool and serving as role model for May. I know for a fact they are here because they are marketable and popular but unlike what I said before, it's more coherent to see Johnny, a pirate roaming the world anyway, than Chipp who is still establishing his kingdom in Africa. Baiken still doesn't make much sense once again but her behaviour in this episode is really in line with her character now, I appreciate it.

Now so far if they wanna go all out with the cameos, the only coherent ones left are May, Pot, Chipp, Millia, Zato, Anji, GL and Gio. Everyone I haven't cited are either dead (Ino, HC) or irrelevant like ABA, Zappa, Nago and Slayer.

If only the anime didn't looked like ass each time there's a background shot and more than 5 people on frame I would consider this as a good piece of GG media but as of now Dual Rulers is still more in the realm of Overture than Accent Core.

A lot of political stuff going on and it's not good for the world if there is a device that can wipe out places instantly.
That was a great fight between Sin & Unika.
Still have to wait and see what those memories are between them.

Geezus what an episode

I hope Elphelt’s Okay. That orbital strike blast Must’ve been ridiculous

I’m more surprised about Sin bruh. I main him in strive and I initially thought he was just a Human with gear blood he inherited from Dizzy but HE’S ACTUALLY A GEAR?! The fact he controlled that monster when Unika was falling.

I’m more interested about Unika’s past now. No way she’s Not waging war against gears for a reason besides not wanting yet another Crusade.

I sometimes forget that Sol really isn't a fighter, or a bounty hunter, or a knight, what he truly is it's a fucking nerd, Frederick Nerdguy🤣

This was a good episode, but I hate that even tho it is a CGI anime, and has the best models ever possible because of Arc System Works, they keep trying to do as little animation as possible, that's really lame, makes it end up looking like shit with all that stiffness and fixed panels.
Sorry if my english is bad (っ˘▽˘)っ~~~
Btw, cry about it.

I am genuinely puzzled how people enjoy this. It's nothing but closeups and massive handwaves. CGI should make things EASIER to animate, but they're directing the anime like they have a shoestring budget of $2.50

@Icarus1488 Just read the shallow review that gave this pile of shit 10/10 and you can see. Guilty gear "nu-fans" (the same that laugh at the dreadful reddit tier memes) enjoy (?) it for one reason - their beloved character are getting screentime. That's it
