Even these characters in the show can perform supernatural feats, some of them display a lot of human emotions still. This episode made Sin realize that the risk he took may not always be worth it. Same with Unika.

Oh and it's interesting to see Dr. Paradigm making an appearance.

I don't think it was a shock that Unika is from the future, it's been heavily implied since the start of the show. I am curious though who her parents are. She keeps mentioning her father but I don't think she's talking about the senator guy. The man in her memories sounds like an old man. I'm actually quite happy that Sol felt bad about shooting Unika, he really didn't want to do it but Sin left him no choice in order to protect him. And of course I love Jack-O, so any time she appears I love it. They all seem to be together now so hopefully we can start working our way to the climax of the show.

Well, I figured she was a time traveler from episode 1, so it wasn't a huge plot twist for me.

What a good episode, the development of Bridget being explored in an anime was wonderful, they finally put a good role for her in the plot, unfortunately half of the episode is full of fluff with flashback, but it makes up for it with character exploration that those who follow the games will love.

Nice to see Dr. Paradigm again, those scenes were entertaining.
Bridget did a very nice thing helping Unika out like that.
No surprise who the mastermind is, it was obvious from the beginning.

I don't care about anything else, the Bridget bathing scene made it all worth it.

I suspect I might be in the minority here but I've always found the politics of the Guilty Gear world to be one of the most fascinating aspects of it, so I had fun with this episode (Bridget scene aside).

I feel though I’m Misunderstanding Unika or Agent U honestly…am I the only one that Feels that way?

She was opening up to Bridgette and being strangely friendly with her. I’m willing to bet that a greater power might be controlling her aka Her Father and she doesn’t want to be involved in that one bit. Later on when she was looking at her Access code copy while her and Bridgette were sleeping and remembered the test she ran, she realized “Holy crap…I might’ve killed someone accidentally. What have I done.” Because as Johnny said to Sin: she was careful and wasn’t shooting at the guests during Ky/Dizzy’s wedding. And not to mention: “You think a Woman like that would be okay with Torching a Whole city?”

I take back what I said previous episode, this anime is still ass.

10 minutes or recap and retrospection and 5 minutes of Bridget pandering, yes let's show Bridget naked she's the icon of the franchise lmao what a shameless cashgrab.
Guilty Gear truly died on the fateful day of 8th of August 2022 and never recovered since.

Where's the metal? Where's the excitement? Where's the retarded animeshit? The only thing this episode has that is close to GG is a lot of Xrd stupid technobabble which is the worst part about GG that's why it's never expanded upon beyond complementary materials.
Do you know the entire magic system involves an extremely complex and confusing process of tuning magical energy using a language called Divine steps arranged in a specific order through the use of an hardware or software sequencer in the same way you would program a code?
No you don't know, no one fucking knows because it's the most autistic concept that can only comes from the pit of Daisuke's crazy brain and isn't alluded once in the actual story, only in a sub gamemode dedicated to the lore. In this episode however, they decided having technobabble about ancient weapon was so important they took the entire runtime which isn't Bridget bare pecs or Leo in a Discord call to tell you about this shit that will be forgotten as soon as the anime is over.

This show is supposed to shill Unika has the new real GG newcomer in Strive since Happy Chaos, we're talking 3 years and a half (Asuka is only a gameplay newcomer he's been the story since its inception) and yet I feel like Unika is the most bland character out of every newcomer despite having an entire anime dedicated to her which neither Giovanna or Nagoriyuki had.

Yes it's cool to give Johnny a few cool lines here and there because that's probably the last time we'll ever hear Nakamoto doing his voice, yes it's cool to have Elphelt be more than a walking meme but that is something that was already the case before and the story was actually engaging on top of it.

Paradigm is still the weirdest character from Overture to still find relevancy in GG's story from absolutely nowhere, it's funny because Faust used to be a very present character for expository dialogue but since he turned crazy he had to be replaced by the closest thing they had.
"Human as a specie cannot be trusted" I have several instances of Dialogue in GG2 where he claimed the actual opposite. I don't get why this whole ordeal forcing Sin to take a decision for all Gear still alive is so important because it was never really brought upon Dizzy after GGX and Gears of ganymede were always shown to be living fine away from human civilisation but I'm not against making Sin something more than a comic relief sidekick to Sol and really the "new" main character of the franchise.

If Unika does a face turn because she got a pep talk from the marketing puppet that is Bridget I'm going to fucking lose it, I hope this character is bottom1 from day1 if it really what's happenning.

@GersonSalas Unika was introduced for the first time in the anime, so this is the first time we've seen her interact with Bridget. Also, Bridget is canonically a trans girl (this is official, you can check the 11th volume of Developer's Backyard).

So Bridget's logic is: even if you’ve massacred people, if I see you injured, I’ll help you—because “it’s the right thing to do” 😊—what kind of nonsense is that?!

Sin’s finally starting to realize how foolish his actions were back then, but I still doubt his attitude toward Unika will really change moving forward. And now he’s backing out of becoming the King of the Gears after all that big talk about stopping the next Crusade—figures.

Looks like we’ll soon learn more about Nerville’s connection to Unika and what actions the higher-ups plan to take against him.

Can someone tell me if episode 4, or any previous episode outright calls Bridget female/trans or confirms such? Or mayhaps the complete opposite, making Bridget male again? I've identified with femboy Bridget since middle school, I would really like Bridget to either get some actual context that fills in his plotholes or, better yet, something to undo the trans thing that made Bridget stop making sense as a character.

My god, this anime will be the holy grail of Guilty Gear to me, and definitely worth watching if Bridget is male again from it! Daisuke, save us please! I miss my favorite character!

@Deane So what you're saying is that he's canonically a boy. Your link even explains that the reason he acts like a girl is because he was forcibly raised like that, with the alternatives being death or exile. But of course, everyone has known this since forever, since Bridget is THE character that popularized traps and the "draw a girl, call it a boy" meme in the first place, predating all the trans, pronouns and identity nonsense by many years.

@Gersen fr, I never understood why people would take the very English-but-not-Japanese-specific "confirmation" stuff as canon, especially if they liked his characterization as it was meant to be and always will be, him as a character and not a soulless representation icon for those who know barely anything about him.

@Gersen In the Developer's Backyard they explicitly say that "as to whether 'he' or 'she' would be the correct pronoun for Bridget, the answer would be 'she'", so according to the creators themselves you are referring to her incorrectly. Canonically, her pronouns are "she/her".

And if you'd just read the lore you'd know that Bridget left town and then, acting as a boy, became a famous bounty hunter, brought wealth to her town, and ended the superstition of same-sex twins bringing misfortune - but even without any reason for it, she felt more like herself as a girl, and so she decided to socially transition (i.e. use female pronouns and say that she's a girl). So canonically, she's a trans girl. She wasn't in her conception, but as her story developed so did she.

I wish you culture warriors would just admit that you don't actually care about canon, because the creators couldn't have been more explicit on this topic.

@WhyAmIForgetting I'm sorry, but Daisuke won't save you in this regard. He explicitly said that Bridget's preferred pronouns are she/her, and according to him, making her trans has been the plan since she was created. And it does make complete sense in her lore, if you cared to read it.

It's sad that a character you deeply related to is now fundamentally different, and I do feel bad for you, but that's not Daisuke or Bridget's problem. It's a problem entirely stemming from your perspective of things.

Oh please, it was never the plan. He just found a demographic that the company could make a lot of money from and the results were huge profits (merch especially).

@RealMungDaal I see. But it doesn't detract from the fact that she's canonically trans now even if it wasn't the plan initially, and Daisuke has always been very progressive either way. It wouldn't surprise me at all if he decided on this change for inclusion and diversity, as he's done multiple times before.
