| @kuroneko99 Are you familiar with Roxy Music? They aren't prog rock, per se, as you'd call Yes and Genesis prog rock, but progressive is indeed a good adjective for their music. They made art rock, glam rock, and even the beginnings of new wave. Check them out if you haven't. I'd recommend Flesh + Blood if you wanna go in easy or their debut if you want the material that represents them best. |

| @MeanMrMusician Thank you for the recommendation. yeah, most of music magazines here classify Roxy Music as a prog band, though I'm skeptical about it. (Some magazines also classify Bowie and Nico as prog artists.) As for Roxy, it may be a reason that their first album was produced by Peter Sinfield (Crimson). I have 1st album, Manifesto, Stranded in my HDD, but the only song I can recall is "Avaron". "Fresh & Blood" would be somewhere in my CD collection, as the sleeve art is beautiful. (Looking at Discogs, the members are gorgeous: Eddie Jobson, Eno, Manzanera. I didn't notice it.) This tune is my favorite. Kind of Crimson-ish. The album as a whole is also cool jazz-rock. (Phil Manzanera's) Quiet Sun - Sol Caliente Actually, I added Patti Smith(punk), Led Zeppelin(HR), Cocteau Twins(alternative?) in my prog blog, though no one (including me) call them prog rock. so I may add Roxy as well. |
