Alright Lupin IIIrd is back.

Fake bomber Lupin and the Roviet Union. About as good as the other IIIrd series I'd say

Damn the mystery is gonna be continued in the sequel.

When subs come out I'll bring my thoughts out on it.

Subs came out, they're not great, there's a few mistakes regarding pronouns, sometimes a character will be talking about someone and the subs will say "its" instead of "he" but overall it's perfectly watchable.

This ONA was fine, a lot more serious than the usual lupin series/movie and I wish the main cast got to shine more but it was still fine, I enjoyed the different and cold atmosphere and I guess the movie that will come out at the end of the year will let us see the whole Lupin's crew do their thing.

quick questions:

- what was that "alien" looking thing the fake Lupin saw during the explosion?

- the plane that Zenigata flew in the end, is it a real plane?

@Mikarin_Enjoyer the alien looking thing is Mamo, the antagonist from "The Mystery of Mamo", the first Lupin III movie

Aside from watching only the first teaser, this was not what I was expecting (I mean this as a good thing). I’ve waited since 2019 for another Koike Lupin film after Fujiko Mine’s Lie left me on the disappointed side of things, especially when Jigen’s and Goemon’s (still my personal favorite of the films) movies were solid. Of course as a followed, I was hoping for Zenigata or even Lupin to be next and well, they’ve combined the two for this one and it just hits!

I’ve enjoyed so much more than the last film with Fujiko. Koike really went “Let’s take the concept of Green vs Red and actually make it GOOD, or least entertaining.” I’ll admit, I genuinely thought the real Lupin was actually the terrorist at first, knowing how he didn’t play a crucial role in the previous film and with the Koike film series, everything is fair game. The more the movie went down, it’s a Green vs Red situation but with an edge. Personally, I would’ve liked to hear more an of explanation behind the fake Lupin but it’s never elaborated on why he decided to cast Lupin’s appearance specifically. He’s just a psychopath and that’s it. In regards to the ending, the window certainly opens itself for a POSSIBLE follow-up now that this version of Lupin and Zenigata have grown a mutual respect for one another. Lupin even viewing Zenigata as a part of the crew - It’s cool to see. But at the same time, it feels very conclusive for this universe as well. I wonder if he’ll start calling Zenigata “Pops” in a fondly fashion like most Lupin media.

It’s too soon to tell, but I would love to see Koike direct a Part 7 jacket series with the same style and dark tone (the CGI crowds are still hideous however lmao) All and all, great entry for both Zenigata and Lupin. I can’t wait to hear the English dub cast tackle this one. ❤️

I liked it, definitely one of the more memorable of the recent films. I enjoyed the more edgy take on green vs red, although I wish it could have gone on a bit longer. This would have benefited from another 30min of runtime. I love when Lupin is more gritty and “realistic” like this, and the setting is one of my favorites for the genre. Looking forward to the future of the Lupin franchise, and all upcoming Koike Lupin particularly.

Id rate it a 7.5/10, will probably round up to 8

Well, i came here to say what all already said: this is Green vs Red but done well. Green vs Red was always such a good concept, it's really cool that Koike has done it justice.

@Mikarin_Enjoyer It's Kyosuke Mamo, the antagonist of the first Lupin III movie, he also appeared in Jigen Daisuke No Bohyou, another Lupin the IIIrd movie of the same director.

@Mikarin_Enjoyer It does, this movie is still a sequel of the IIIrd series, despite not being listed as that, this movie is in essence a sequel of Mine Fujiko No Uso and its predecessors.
It would be good if you first watch The Woman Called Mine Fujiko and the rest of ONAs before watching The Immortal Bloodline

It was okay... I liked the visuals, but I didn't really care for the dark tone. That said, I enjoyed watching this ONA more than I did all of part 6.

Probably the best film directed by Takeshi Koike.
The film strongly criticizes the political system, especially the business behind armed conflicts.
Zenigata is masterfully portrayed.

Zenigata and Lupin teaming up is always adorable and exciting. Zenigata preventing Lupin from dying and Lupin being a good nurse and pouring vodka on Zenigata's wounds. They are a precious duo. Fujiko was very naked as always :V
