| Bandai Namco Filmworks revealed during their Anime Expo panel for The Ghost in the Shell that a brand-new TV anime is in production by Science SARU, with a planned debut in 2026. | Additional Notes: • The new anime was officially announced in May 2024. • Voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, the iconic voice of Motoko Kusanagi, sadly passed away in August 2024 at age 61. • The most recent anime before this was Ghost in the Shell: SAC_2045 The Last Human, a compilation film of SAC_2045 Season 2, released in November 2023. |
HOLY COW the more i see this adaptation the more it resemble the 1997 PS1 game which was very faithful to the manga. |

| After the embarrassment that was the fist of the North Star remake, we should count ourselves lucky that the Ghost in the Shell manga is getting an anime adaptation from a legitimately good studio. Plus the Dandadan director working on it is even better! |
