| Yes, the first two chapters were effectively double length, but episode 3 adapted 2 chapters. To cover the OP scenes properly then at an absolute bare minimum they need to finish chapter 39 and then maybe have a few extra scenes from a bit later on during the closing credits. So, doing the math, we're only 4 chapters down with 10 episodes to go, which means 3.5 chapters per episode. So, they either have to pick up the pace tremendously and skip a whole bunch of stuff like character backstories, which would be difficult as people are already condemning Subaru for the way she behaved without knowing jack about her and where she's coming from (I mean, not jumping to conclusions about people is the whole point of the story), or it's really split cours and they haven't made it public yet. That way, they can keep to 2 chapters an episode and bring the story to a good close. Anyway, I guess we'll be able to make a better judgment after a few more episodes. |
