Where/when do the opening and ending songs appear?

So far every episode (up to 4 in my case) has had a length of around 21 minutes, but in none have I seen the opening or ending songs being played, and I do know they exist becaus they appear in youtube and animethemes.moe. So is it that the place where i'm watching it simply trimmed down those sections? I've looked in plenty of other sites and all of them have the same 21 minutes runtime per episode.
