Which year do you think is better? I haven't read year 2 yet so I was just curious.

havent finished year 2, but tbh maybe year one imo, i really liked that Xmas part, idk but it just felt kinda special to me. year 2 is great as well^^

I like year 2 better. Get to see more of Ayanokouji manipulative side. Year 1 only gives you a glimmer of what is going to happen and gets you familiar with the background.

Year 1 is better written and year 2 is just a conclusion merchant. The anime cut out a lot of Koji's dialogues and monologues which give him more depth in year 1. But what about year 2? The writing falls off as soon as it begins. Uninhabited island exams, despite being the most enjoyable exams, is overrated. It was entirely action packed and there was zero depth.

year 2 only volume 1-4.5(+ V12.5) are very good
the rest is rushed as hell with sum trash volume
(V0 doesn't count cuz it was released with S2 of the anime Blu-ray)

so year 1 won for not having trash volume and not being rushed
