 Voice actors Kana Hanazawa and Kensho Ono announced on Sunday that they have divorced after five years of marriage. The announcement was made through a joint statement shared on Hanazawa's Instagram and Ono's X (formerly Twitter) account.In their message, the two explained that they have decided to divorce after many discussions, citing differences in their daily schedules, "It became difficult to spend time together as a couple, and as the distance between us grew, we chose to respect one another and walk separate paths." They continued, "We deeply apologize for having to share this kind of news with everyone who has warmly supported us. Moving forward, we will both continue to devote ourselves to our work more than ever, and we would be grateful for your continued support." Hanazawa and Ono, both prominent figures in the anime industry, announced their marriage in July 2020. Ono is widely known for voicing Giorno Giovanna in JoJo no Kimyou na Bouken Part 5: Ougon no Kaze (JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind), Tetsuya Kuroko in Kuroko no Basket (Kuroko's Basketball), Mikaela Hyakuya in Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign), and Slaine Troyrad in Aldnoah.Zero. He is also well known for playing Harry Potter in the films' Japanese dub. Hanazawa is known for roles such as Nadeko Sengoku in Monogatari Series, Kanade Tachibana in Angel Beats!, Anri Sonohara in Durarara!!, and Mayuri Shiina in Steins;Gate. | I'm always happy for people who divorce by mutual agreement, because that means they will no longer have to be tied to someone they aren't comfortable being a couple with. Not saying that marriage is bad, but having to keep one despite wanting to end it is. |

| @RobertBobert This was not a rushed marriage. Weekly Bunbun exposed that they were already living together in February 2017, almost 3.5 years before they got officially married in July 2020. They were in a relationship for at a minimum 4 years before the wedding. |
| I have no idea how celebrity relationships work, but hopefully both can find suitable partners, and continue pursuing their goals. |

| @Banshee-IV It doesn't matter. Marriage and just dating, living together are two different things. Some people are in a relationship for 10-20 years before marriage. What matters is how ready you are for life together and life together with this person, potentially for life. |

And it's true that right now, we don't know if a lot of voice actor marriages will last long, because a lot of them are pretty new and haven't really stood the test of time yet. It only started becoming a trend for Japanese voice actors to marry each other starting in 2019 when Yuuki Kaji and Ayana Taketatsu got the ball rolling. |
