Didn't expect Chibita to carry anti-war message. World peace? Yes! Oden without border? Yes!

1 word: sauceless
How can they make an emotional episode centered on Chibita without including Iyami? A punch hurt less.

Chibita threatening to finally take Osomatsu to court over his tab got the only chuckle out of me of the entire episode. Despite this, I still enjoyed this one.

I really liked the reference to current situation, of course Osomatsu San is anti war/capitalist

but this episode was an insult.

Episode 11 was so funny and here we come back to slow shit writing attempting to be cute but the only attempt I make is trying to not quit this episode even tho I'm watching it 1.5x speed.

I just can't take it anymore with those short skits using a FULL 24 minutes episode.
Yes it was sad and "important development" (if you can call that development) to the story because a major character leaves. But then it's not hitting me because once again, no one is acting as they should.

The brothers are back acting like a hive, Totoko had a lobotomy because she supports the brothers??? believes in them??? laughs and hangs out with them???? HELLO????? WHO ARE YOU???
Same with Nyancat girl (I forgot her name, that's how bad her presence is in this season), all she brings in this season is her kid. She got reduced to the role of a mother with a kid. The good old Japanese cliché and society problem of "if a woman dares to be pregnant, she loses her job but also her personality!".

Totoko and Nyancat girl writing this season is just misogynistic. They have no impact, bring nothing to the story but background noise support to the brothers and barely interact with the story or skits.

The brothers.... they can afford paying their food.... they pay.... their food... their ramen.... this episode is all about Chibita and he even brought back the subject of their tab they never pay back!!! THEY PAY THEIR RAMEN IN ANOTHER STALL BUT FUCK CHIBITA I GUESS? Where did they even get their money????
Because they talk like they can afford things!! Like going to the ocean? HOW? YOU HAVE NO MONEY, NO CAR, NO DRIVING LICENSE?? YOU'RE BROKE NEETS?? REMEMBER!!!

Also, why is the mom supporting his NEET son in his (maybe now) late twenties' gambling addiction? "You better win horse race today lol" ????? Isn't that the allowence you gave him?? You're happy he's wasting it??

And Osomatsu's breakdown, I felt a huge moment of déjà vu with season 1 so it didn't hit me, I felt like I was rewatching the same episode but without the sadness because I won't miss this season, I won't miss anyone, I won't miss Osomatsu San because this season SUCKED!

I'll put my bet on last episode:

- either they'll say sike, bring back Chibita by force, provoke everyone and go back to their neet attitude and beg for a new season

- or they'll keep going with this bad writing attempting to make me feel sad about the show when it's making me grow my hate towards it and agree they don't need a new season and how this one should be the final.

I can't believe this might be the final season of the show and this how we're ending it....
I'm disappointed as a OsoSan fan, I don't want another season, I don't want to buy merch anymore (imagine that scene in SpongeBob with Patchy Pirate removing everything from his walls and having a crash out, that's me lol)
If I want to be evil, I hope whoever was in charge of this season's writing gets blacklisted from the industry.

TLDR: I hated this season. I don't care if I'm cringe, I'm a fan and allowed to be mad one of my favorite shows I've been following since I'm a teen got blasphemed with ass writing and mischaracterization.

@Captnyaa I agree with all of this. I'm SO disappointed with this new season, which is anything but Osomatsu-san. I thought Iyami would be there to at least say goodbye to Chibita. I thought Totoko would at least react. I thought they'd touch on Nyaa-chan being a single mother in modern Japan despite being an idol. I thought Chibita's character development would be justified by more than just "he was hungry as a child." I thought they'd touch on Matsuyo and Matsuzou's financial struggles (Matsuyo supporting Osomatsu's gambling addiction? You're not my mom...). I thought there would be at least one entertaining comedy segment with Dekapan, Dayon, or Hatabou (the exercise one doesn't count because it's not funny). I thought the new characters we'd see would be at least minimally interesting.

I don't know if there will be another season of Osomatsu-san, but if there is and it's like this one, I'd rather Osomatsu-san ended here. This isn't an anniversary for Akatsuka-sensei, and if they really wanted to honor his memory, they should have reanimated or remastered the Osomatsu-kun OVA or movie or 60's episodes. Just because the sextuplets have to look alike doesn't have to make them boring. They were the same, and they had CHARISMA. These are just imitations.

@Noisemaster_ OMG YOU'RE RIGHT, WHERE IS IYAMI?????

About the remaster/OVA of OsoKun, I complained about it on another post but I'm totally with you. They should really have reanimated the best episodes or something with OSOMATSU KUN, it could have been good!! I would have loved it and it, cherry on top, COULD HAVE BEEN A GOOD CELEBRATION BECAUSE IT WOULD INTRODUCE PEOPLE TO OSOMATSU KUN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They could have started a new show rebooting OsoKun as them being kids or something (I'm thinking with a capitalist mind here lol)
This new director needs to get fired and go back working on Boruto

You can hear him scream at the end of the episode. He’s somewhere in space because he was abducted in the episode with the alien laborers. I see a problem with the season here. Iyami might come back in the next episode, but the farewell to Chibita, a character who hasn’t done much this season and was rarely seen in the first three, felt like the writers really want to write him out of the show. It’s obvious that a constantly swearing bald guy isn’t going to be the most popular character these days, but this feels like an action to write him out for future works. Iyami might be in a similar situation, but he’s practically the seventh main character. But this "I feed the hungry with oden" is just dumb, and pseudo-deep lines like "The world is pretty messed up right now" are just dumb.

I’m really wondering what this season is trying to achieve. The personalities of the brothers are so reduced, Todoko lost her personality after the first episode of this season, -san characters, the Riceballs, and Nyaanchan have become side characters, and the other three are just comic relief, but even then, they’re underused. I mean, that’s why you watch the show, right? The six brothers whose personalities clash and who get into funny situations, and now and then, Dayoon does some crazy stuff.

I can’t understand the argument that this is an anniversary for Akatsuka either. He’s already been honored in the previous seasons; his photo is shown in (almost) every episode, and almost every place or establishment is named after him. Sure, in the last season, the robots shit talking about him for a bit, but nobody likes them anyway. The first season was also for his 80th anniversary. And that’s important because this season is also the 10th anniversary of Osomatsu-san. What did San do differently than Kun? It gave the brothers different personalities and colors. And what has this season done? It’s taken those away almost completely. It felt so weird seeing them all fighting in the same colors while flashbacks from previous seasons showed them with their own colors.

The third season was terrible because of the robots, but this season almost made me miss both of them.

@Sondo bring back the clankers lmao

The director who was in charge never worked on a comedy show from what I gathered. It's insane to put someone with no experience in charge of such a big niche anime.

The theory of characters being written off makes sense but it's weird because who's left then?

I just think the director never watched the anime and just went reading the plot and called a vibe

I wouldn't necessarily call it a theory; it's more of a vibe that I perceive. In this episode, Chibita was essentially replaced by a random ramen shop owner, which felt really weird. I assumed that in the end, Chibita would stay and that guy would go off to help those in need, perhaps with some silly explanation like ramen working better than oden to feed hungry people. I have no idea; I'm not familiar with either. But there wasn't even a kind of torch-passing moment, which suggests that this isn't really a new character.

I mean, the show could existwithout Chibita; he had a relevant role in maybe three or four episodes. But why even do something like this? It feels a bit like, "Hey guys, look, we're removing the annoying boomer characters so we can focus on the brothers" which would be pretty dumb. Especially since the brothers have also lost a lot of their charme this season.

I really love the SOL genre but it just doesn't fit this anime very well.

Finally some decent SOL fare! (This season has degraded my standards so much just "Not painfully boring" is a high bar)
Not funny, but it is cute and a lil touching so I'll take it.

I agree with everyone else that this season has just been an absolute drag in every way possible. If they somehow get a 5th season greenlit after this (lmao), they NEED to overhaul the leading staff. Bc whoever is at the helm now has no idea what they're doing.

i like the iyashikei angle this season, tho my fav is still the hilarious 1st season, i don't like people trashing this on outrageous levels, so 10/10 as a reaction.

hope to see the ending soon.
