Does Hideki's financial condition make you sad?

As somebody who never had to skip a meal due to lack of money , the episode where hideki had to skip all meals because he lost his wallet made me feel really bad about him . Bro was practically broke for the most of the series n had to either skip his meals or eat only one time even then he refused to use chi's money for food . Hideki was such a nice guy though he was a virgin . What do u guys think?

I mean most of those times he could have used Chis money from what I remember, so he was just stubbornly following his principles, which is admirable, but also stupid, so I didn't sympathise with him that much during those situations to be honest. And I was a very broke student in the past as well, so I know what it feels like, but that's also why I think that if you have a way of getting some money for your basic survival, you take it.

Him not taking Chi's money was one of my favourite moments in the anime and made me tear up a little, such a wonderfully understated way of showing that he is really a solid guy, and it didn't feel contrived because he did accept it at first then gave it back, he isn't perfect.
