 The official website for the television anime of Shougo Imamura's Ushuu Boro Tobi-gumi historical novel series revealed additional cast on Friday. The anime, produced by SynergySP, is scheduled to begin airing in January 2026 on CBC and TBS's nationwide "Agaru Anime" programming block on Sundays at 11:30 p.m.Cast Rokuemon Houjou: Naoya Uchida (Vinland Saga) Samon Orishimo: Kouji Yusa (Kijin Gentoushou) Osuzu: Kana Ichinose (Golden Kamuy 3rd Season) Akiyo: Aya Hisakawa (Bleach) Moriemon Dategasaki: Shinnosuke Ogami (Dororo) Heizou Nobuo Hasegawa: Tetsuo Komura (The Fable) Jinsuke: Kent Itou (Kami wa Game ni Ueteiru.) Kingorou: Shinpachi Tsuji (Ookami to Koushinryou: Merchant Meets the Wise Wolf) Renji: Yasuaki Takumi (Goblin Slayer) Tougorou: Shinichiro Miki (Ishura) Imamura began penning the historical novels under Shoudensha in March 2017. The latest volume in the Ushuu Boro Tobi-gumi series, Koi Orochi, was released in March 2022. A manga adaptation of Hikuidori, drawn by Shinobu Seguchi, began serialization in the Weekly Shounen Champion magazine in Spring 2025 and the second volume was released on November 7. | Firefighting samurai is a pretty cool idea. Hope it's more grounded than fantastical. The studio doesn't really inspire confidence, need to see a proper trailer. But I'm happy we're getting another historical seasonal, at least. |
