He might have said something like, Gomen nasai, arigatou, gomen, ano… arigatou. It could be vice versa, too.

If you mean what he said at the cake shop before the show started, it’s never been explained in the manga. It doesn’t matter either-the point is that Rintaro didn’t do anything that profound in his eyes, but it made a huge impact on Kaoruko because he acted so naturally. She loves him because that is who he is at his core.

The manga never told us what Rintaro told Kaoruko, but probably it wasn’t anything special. What was special and impacted Kaoruko, was Rintaro’s genuine care and his effort to calm her down and cheer her up. He must have looked at her with tenderness and a sense of understanding that really surprised her.
