FINALLY ANOTHER KISS EPISODE ITS BEEN AGES! They gave my queen one of the best episodes in a while AND we finally got some Darkine stuff. Only took us a year, but this diva is getting some screen time finally.

It’s nice to finally get a chance to see Kirakiraland again. This was always going to be a momentous occasion for Meroron considering how things were when she left. So for her to come back as Idol, with so much more confidence and frankly as a much happier person thanks to her relationship with the girls, it’s beautiful to see. Being afraid to reveal her true form because she still has trauma from those days when she felt like an outsider in Kirakiraland.. the way everyone looks at her as a hero now is so cool🥹 proud of her!

Fitting she takes center stage in this week’s fight and she looked so cool doing it. Kinda wanted a solo climax performance, but oh well. Her coming to Ruka’s aide this week is a nice full circle moment for her because that’s the same way she was saved by Purirun. Now Ruka will have someone she knows will always be there for her when she’s anxious and lonely, just like Meroron had Purirun. Couldn’t be happier with the episode, yea the actual plot isn’t the best this year, but the character interactions have been phenomenal. I love my girls and I’m looking forward to seeing how everything wraps up in the next few weeks.

Is no one going to criticize that journalist for spreading fear unnecessarily? Yes she is technically doing her job but freaking people out about Darkranda’s is wrong

Excellent episode based around Meroron/Cure Kiss, very emotional despite being an elaboration on the toku trope of the Dark Rider/Dark Sentai becoming a force of good that the japanese love so much they put in show they co-produce with non-japanese people (yes Mikhail/Azazel from Bima Satria Garuda I'm talking about it). Very emotional and reminescent for whatever reason of Jikuu Senshi Spielban, for the villain part I mean (the castle appearing in the sky reminded me of the one in that show). Watched this episode this morning in the way you should watch it, meaning first the Pretty Cure episode, than the GLORIOUS beyond imaginable Kamen Rider Zeztz episode 13 (the scrubber I'm following has health issues and he can't scrub it on the go, no problems whatsoever it's worth the wait) and the equally GLORIOUS beyond reasonable No. 1 Sentai Gozyuger episode provided uberfast by Over-Time. Episodes that both have thing of the Pretty Cure show, either it's previous episodes or this one (the Gozyuger episode is literally this episode with some slight changes and what you would expect to write from Akiko Inoue). I have legitimately no idea what it's going on with the writers of Toei, but I hope this trend continues in the future.
9/10 for this episode (I don't care of Mereron as much as other cures, that's my only real issue here), 10/10 for Zeztz and Gozyuger.

So, canonically, there are 12 Kirarun Ribbons, which means that of all of the episodes of this show, only 12 count...unless those were just two pages of a book full of them? If I'm mistaken, I apologize.

When the Queen told them that they were saviors, that reassured Meroron, despite using the Heart Kitari Lock, and causing all that drama for several episodes earlier in the show. Make no mistake, though, I did feel that the whole amnesia/"you must sacrifice what you love most" thing from back then was kind of taking the easy way out, but anyway...

I'm not exactly sure what "TSUBOMI" is, other than a reference to the lead cure of Heartcatch. I guess it's that...dome thing that opens and closes?

A Christmas episode is coming next week, and of course the Idols aren't going to let the Chokkirine Gang ruin it for everyone...

@Hi_D Chokkorine is sleeping in a capsule, I have my doubts she will be able to do anything to put in danger Christmas. Gorgeous looking lady, BTW. As waifu material as the cures themselves and their civilian identities (I like to think her as my waifu too, albeit not the main one). Again, I wonder why men watch these shows. It's because of the Pretty Holic thing, OFC! Absolutely. That and the identification in the useless male cures 😂😂😂

I liked a lot the way the Kurakuland battle palace / fortress looks, so cool, and what a tease of Darkine's really appearance, she was rather sexy.

Tsubomi means flower bud in Japanese, so it’s not an intentional reference to Cure Blossom (I only remember that fact from that one episode in Heartcatch about Tsubomi’s name). As for the reason for why the sub didn’t directly translate it into English, maybe it’s a stylistic choice?

I knew what the word "tsubomi" meant. I just wasn't sure what it referred to in this show's universe.

@Hi_D I was wondering the same thing, but in a scene you can see there are more pages , so I assume all the ribbons counted, not only 12 as they showed at first.

@komic you're late to the party

The whale monster from Kamen Rider Black did it way before this series. Urutoraman too did it, from back the return of Urutoraman and the episode of the alien guy who gets killed by humans due to racism. I've read that in Metalder they tried to do that too, but I haven't watched that series yet.
In KR Faiz literally the main rider transforms into a monster...

@komic where you think they came the Precures? from the Kamen Riders and the henshin superhero tokusatsus. From Futari Wa on. They call them "Kamen Riders for girls" for a reason, not just because of marketing. If the mods cancel again my comment deeming it as "spamming" or threaten me of ban I don't care, it means they clearly don't know what's behind the Cures to begin with. Which are the Kamen Riders and Super Sentais. Every trope you see in these shows - including the Dark Rider/Dark Sentai becoming a force of good, like it happened with Mereron and like Mereron explains in this episode - is 100% lifted from the Kamen Riders and Super Sentais.

Oh my bad. I misinterpreted what you meant. The tsubomi is the flower that the kiralaland is situated one (the one that closes to form a shield against Darkine’s scissors)

a bit late in posting, busy Christmas season.

Kiraland is finally restored to it's beauty and the fairies are freed. It's nice that the Queen and the other fairies are forgiving, Meroron is treated like a hero. There is really no other choice except to use the locks to get power, it was impossible to beat the monster Cutty without it.

now they just have to defeat Darkiine. Keep saving people to give the big ribbon more power. :)
