Ye, this was an united effort of Satou, the princesses, and everyone fighting against the Abyss King. Looks like their training paid off although from this episode, they are still considered underdogs.

I think this episode is clearly trying to make a point to show how powerful the Abyss King is. No surprise. He's the ultimate antagonist from this season/franchise. The amount of despair he wants to show Satou is just part of his agenda.

When you look too deep into the abyss, the abyss looks back. So I suppose you should look up, then.

Well, it was pretty predictable who the abyss king would be but I don't care. I only have one more week to appreciate my gorgeous Saphir.

Pep, it was first Ring King merge with the Abyss King when both had been sealed. The illusion duplicate of the first Ring Princess of Light seems to have some role left to play.

Long and deep I gazed into the abyss, and it did gaze back. It told me I would join it, and I smiled. It told me I could not hold my stare upon it much longer, and I smiled. It quailed in fear and tried to leave me, but I held it fast. The Abyss surrendered to me and called me master. I told the Abyss "You also shall serve my will, even as does the light, the dawn, the twilight, the grey maybe, and all the colors of knowledge." The Abyss grew calm and realized purpose now that it was subject to my direction and will. Thus Lord Cruelty came to be.

Only one more episode left :( this was so peak! The girls confronting the princesses of the past and not falling prey to their mind games, reaffirming their commitment to Satou and trusting in him was dope. S/O Granart for leading the charge and rallying the girls! I’m really proud of she and Nefritis growth this season. Bringing back the first OP was dope too and omg Amber panicking for the first time was so cute

Cannot wait to see how they handle the climax next week, I don’t think we’ll see a season 3, so this’ll likely be the last time we see everyone animated. Shame because there’s some really cool twists in the manga after this.

It would’ve been a way better twist with the old Ring King being the Abyss King if they didn’t make it obvious by giving them the same VA

My EXACT feeling. Was ready for this to be done.

Separately, doing the whole "look how many people have rallied behind the protagonist and shown up to fight before showing the protagonist at the lowest point (in this case, vanishing) feels a little emotionally backwards. Don't you want everyone showing up, the real Ward for living in a way that inspired people, to be the thing that turns the tide from the darkest moment to victory? oh well, we'll probably just give it to Hime to really drive home how much the creator plans to ignore the rest of MC's wives despite forcing all of them to marry him. (But here's hoping I'm wrong!!)

I was wondering whether that was supposed to be some grand reveal, I thought we knew this for a while now.

Granart is episode MVP.

Alabaster really gave up on Satou quickly didn’t he lol, he saw Satou get sucked into the void and was like “we have to seal them in together, there’s no other way!”, thankfully Satou’s wives had more faith lol. And yeah, the Abyss King is the original Ring King, not really a surprise since it’s been hinted at for a while now, but I was thinking it was simply that the Ring King became evil, turns out they merged together, it doesn’t change much but yeah lol.

And so much for the approximations of the past Ring Princesses, they all vanished after a short battle with the current ones, except for the light one, I’m guessing she’s the real one and was also sealed with the original Ring King, interesting reveal, but hopefully Hime shows her Ring Princesses can do more than just watch. And as nice as it was seeing the allied forces come together to stop the Abyss King, Satou unfortunately got consumed, but I’m guessing he’s not done for good, and with one episode left, we’ll see how he comes out of this in the finale, this final arc has been a little rough but I’ve enjoyed this season overall, hopefully it finishes out strong.

Also, the use of the first OP was nice here, I haven’t heard it in a while so it was pretty nostalgic.

In my opinion, this was already clear after Peridot's story about the previous hero.

I find Satou so aggravating. Time and time again he’s reminded by everyone that the power of the ring king comes from his connection to his wives. Yet he chooses to ignore their feelings. Well, everyone except Hime. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with loving all of them and she has told him so a few times, but she still acts jealous at the end. I wish they would grow the fuck up. They should have a relationship other than just about the goddamn rings. Most of the other girls want to get closer to him, but he continues to shun them. I don’t mean that he should be railing them left and right every single day, but at least show them some love and affection and spend some goddamn time with them. He seems like a fucking coward and keeps using Hime as his shield when they try to get closer to him. It’s infuriating seeing them try so hard to get close to him and he just shuts them down. That’s one of the many problems of this an many anime’s in this genre and I wish it would change. Otherwise, don’t even attempt a harem if your characters can’t even do the basics of a relationship with many people involved. This anime would’ve been barely ok as a single couple type relationship. I wish Japan would change with these idiotic relationships in anime!

I thought the girls were going to enter the abyss portal to help out Satou but it looks like they will simply continue to fight outside whereas Satou got sucked into yet another abyss portal? Interesting, I'm curious to see how this ends since it appears that Satou is even further away from the girls' and their rings reach.

Loved the episode, 5/5, mainly because Haruto got precisely what he deserved, no matter how pure his intentions were. The world is at stake here, and bro don't wanna copulate with his other wives. Why? Cuz he’s worried about making Krystal jealous and cuz he “ain't ready”. Welp, sucks to be you.

I 100% knew Haruto was gonna get wrecked by the Abyss King as soon as I watched last week’s episode and saw him only copulate with Krystal. Again, the world is at stake. Haruto genuinely needs to reorder his priorities, cuz at this point, it’s just dumb. Guess it's too late for that anyway, so screw it.

The Ring Princesses' infighting against the Abyss King's parallel shadow creations of them, alongside Satou standing strong against the Abyss King to find opportune moments to strike, the latter help from Marse for him to finally cut through the mask to reveal the first Ring King's fate being integrated with evil. Even when there's animosity between both Ring Kings, the former plunging into the Abyss darkness while his princess stood the only one alive with Hime, the plot thickens learning of the true Abyss of Arnulus, with Satou's world being one of its many droplets.

Alabaster seeing this as a gamble to seal the Abyss King with Satou, just like the legend had with the first, it's different this time, not just of the power of the rings, but the Imperial Army finally making their way into the Abyss gives them hope. Along with it, Sizuk's 1st OP for the series, being the better of the 2 for the anime, adds motivation enough to finish the fight they started.

However, Satou being fully sucked into the Abyss darkness this time, is there any hope left to save the world?

It's going to be quite the rush to complete the adaptation of the manga, unless if they had like an extra OVA episode of sorts.

The Abyss King merging with the former Ring King is an interesting reveal. That's a lot more complicated than being a graveyard hivemind like I initially presumed. The first ring princess sticking around with him in this state is tragic.

I'm a sucker for the trope of everyone joining the final battle. So I'm happy to see it here.
