Quincies are defined by their ability to erase souls entirely, removing them from the cycle of reincarnation. Since Yhwach is a Quincy and was responsible for Yamamoto’s death, how does Yamamoto’s appearance in Hell make sense within that framework?

Additionally, the special explains that the spiritual pressure of Captain-class Soul Reapers is too immense for Soul Society to contain. However, Kaien previously explained that the physical body converts into Reishi upon death, while Rukia stated that the soul itself reincarnates into the World of the Living. Given this, does that imply that Captains’ souls are sent to Hell, and that the funeral ritual provides them with physical forms there?

I love Bleach, but I stopped trying to figure that stuff out a while ago. I don't think Kubo put much thought into it, I think he was just saying cool words that fit at the time.

I think in this case you have to assume that souls with tremendous spiritual pressure aren't affected by that. Captain level soul reapers already can't go through the cycle of life exactly because they have such tremendous power, hence they get sent to hell after death. I dont think it matters much who kills them. Remember, Mayuri brought back soul reapers who were killed by Quincy.

the above paragraph was mostly to entertain your idea, but I don't think it's necessary to assume anything tbh. in your statement you forgot to mention that Hollows are the species that are mentioned in that statement and not soul reapers. it's stated that quncies are completely opposite from Hollows and when they kill them, the latter completely ceases to exist, thus disrupting the balance that the soul reapers created. no where in that statement do soul reapers get mentioned, so in the end? nothing extraordinary happens. they just die. if they're captain level, they get set to hell. if they're not, they go through the cycle.
