Its honestly sad what they have done to this series, it was an amazing adaptation and it had all the hype in the world after s4, worldwide hype... In 2021 haikyuu was everywhere in the online space. Other series capitalized on that hype, AoT finished, Demon Slayer kept going strong and even JJK had a strong presence, what did Haikyuu do? 1 movie in 5/6 years, as much as i love this series, it is dead. Glad I have the manga

Yeah, like, 4 years for a movie? It killed the hype. I wouldn't have even watched the movie if it wasn't for a friend's post.

Yeah. At least the manga have long finished then. I still remember of me kept on rereading the last Haikyuu arc. It was so hype, man!

The movie left me unsatisfied, mainly for the typical cut content but that put a dent on how the rest of the series would be adapted leading to longer production times for less of the typical adaptation quality in exchange for somewhat big theatrical releases and uncertainty on how they’d adapt the rest of the series that ruined how the anime felt for me

I wouldn’t say it is a dead series. At every anime store in Korea or Japan, haikyu merchandise takes up a huge chunk of shelf space. It is more popular than blue lock in east Asia, which is still being serialized. However yes the movie cut way too much peak content.
