| Episode 14 Things pick up right where they left off as death row convicts and their execution partners have ventured into the island of death to find the Elixir of Life, which is guarded by the gods, who are as strong as they are said to be, and death is lurking at every corner. After a tough battle against the Tensen to end the first season, the search continues, all while everybody puts on a new outfit seeing that their blood-stained clothes will attract unwanted attention. And then I'm reminded that Gabimaru went on this mission hoping to die as the immortality curse only added to his suffering, but was given a reason to keep on living with his wife. And so, things get back to the action as Gabimaru and Chobei fight, as well as Toma and Gantetsusai. With the manga series finished, this is the second of what should be three cours as the first season adapted roughly 1/3 of the manga series. If this is one cour, I expect a third season announcement to come at the end with that being the final season. |
| More great Mappa fights between ninja and samurai and whatever the hell the monsters are on that island. Plus throw in a bunch of Eastern philosophy mystical mumbo jumbo and political intrigue and this show is a great, bloody watch. Not a fan of the new outfits though :/ |

| @SparkyBob Yeah, Yuzuriha is a ninja and not a kung-fu combatant. Ninjas don't wear Chinese dresses, and if she needed a new outfit something like what is worn in Naruto would be a much better option. |
| Not sure if I watched it on a bad-ish mood or something but, it didn't quite hit me as I expected it would. Or maybe I should've rewatched the 1st season. But regardless, I liked it since it was very productive: lots of story stuff done, and it immediately went straight to it with the action; didn't waste time. |

| Episode 15 Things get pretty heated in the battle between Gabimaru and Chobe, but Gabimaru is at a huge disadvantage being unable to use tao. But just when Chobe was cornered, Mei intervenes and Chobe ends up falling through the cracks she created. All of the sudden, Gabimaru has transformed into Gabimaru the Hollow, and is not the same person everybody knows. But Sagiri fixes that by injecting him with some of her own tao. Gabimaru is trying to sort out what is real and what isn't after that as he realizes why he's seeking the pardon after forgetting. So while Gabimaru is back on his feet, the same can't be said for Chobe as he's confronted by Lord Tensen as he's none too pleased about what happened to Mu Dan. |
| Ugh I probably really need to rewatch season 1. I only vaguely remember all these characters and all of their backstories. |
| There's still really something missing for me that I can't quite point out. I feel like I should be more hyped up about this show. But it's definitely a great visual treat, every character's presence is felt, and some directing touches adds to the experience. Maybe I just need a few more episodes. |

| Episode 16 Gabimaru just remembered how dangerous it is to be over-reliant on tao, so he asks his comrades to help him train realizing that he's not strong enough to take on the Tensens. Likewise, Toma is asking Gantetsusai to train him. While that's going on, Chobe is fighting Lord Tensen and thinks he defeats him, but it's only one of his clones that he beats, and being at his limit already that he goes down. And then Fuchi explains the situation as he learned how the Elixir works and what's going on. With Mei's condition getting worse and in need of a large injection of tao, Hoko sacrifices himself to keep Mei alive. Lots of explanations here, but now a huge threat has shown up as some other execution squad has arrived at the island. |
| Man finally some backstory on this island and what these weirdos are. Yeah see Sagiri wasn't doing that "technique" correctly with Gabimaru, this purple haired thing knows how it's supposed to be done. |
| I never watched season 1 so binging it now to get to season 2...the monsters remind me of a cross between Attack on Titan and Scarlet Nexus. I'm hoping if they ever get back to Japan that they kill the shogun |
| All caught up now, the island reminds me of Yamatai from Tomb raider, an island you can't leave. It's pretty good, but not sure it lives up to the hype that it originally got. |
| (Episode 3) Things are getting interesting now, but not quite there yet. Lots of fights but it's only starting to progress, story-wise. Next episode might finally be it though. Ah yes. Who needs sexy and dirty talk-- story exposition is much more arousing xD |

| Episode 17 It has been two days since the expedition to the island began, and another execution squad led by Shugen is on their way consisting of samurais and ninjas, and they are out to execute Gabimaru and the other remaining criminals on the spot. While Sagiri believes they have come to assist, Shion thinks otherwise. The squad encounters monsters on the shore and they show why they are dangerous as they work quite well as team. Knowing what's coming, Gabimaru's group decides to band together and do everything it takes to get the Elixir. Pretty much, this episode is all about building towards a big battle coming up as the enemies on the island are tough enough to deal with, but now they have another execution squad who wants them dead coming to the island as Shugen wants everybody dead. |
| Geez why didn't they just send this guy the first time if he is that powerful. As if the original group didn't have enough problems on the island now they have to deal with these guys. These ninja suck too, why couldn't they send more of the sexy kind like Yuzuriha. That guy singing while killing himself...yeesh. |

| Episode 18 As the battle ahead is going to be long and tough, especially with another execution squad becoming an obstacle, Gabimaru and company spend the day doing some training, all while the Tensens keep Chobe prisoner and are plotting something big. So after that buildup, the operation begins at night to sneak inside the central palace to swipe the elixir and get out of the island. They sneak in and take out the guards, and things seem to be too easy there seeing that those guards went down so easily and there's no Tensen detected. But of course, there's no way they are going to get the elixir without a fight, and they fell right into the Tensen's trap as everybody got separated. So with that, a bunch of individual fights are on as this show reaches the halfway point of the manga series. |

| Episode 19 Mei makes a decision to leave the island with everybody else as the fight for the elixir begins. First up it's Gabimaru and Yuzuriha fighting against Ran, but it turns out they are at the wrong place as they though they were at the renten palace and that's not it. So with everybody else busy dealing with the Tensens, Sagiri and Mmei are tasked with finding and taking the elixir. Just when it looked like Yuzuriha had defeated Ran after slicing him in half, it turns out that it's only the beginning of the battle as Ran unleashes his true form and he's quite a handful to deal with in that form. Gabimaru sure has his work cut out as he while he knew that it's going to take everything to beat these guys, this is more than he bargained for. Of course, he has his motivation for completing the mission as he's determined to see his wife when all is said and done on this island. |
| Alright some of these characters have come back from some pretty horrific injuries, but unless they pull some bullshit Tao stuff out of their ass Gabimaru looks pretty dead. Torso sliced from the shoulder down through the heart to the stomach. That looks pretty fatal. Just hope Yuzuriha gets away. |

| I worry that this is gonna be Yuzuriha's 'human' moment after Gabimaru kept saving her. She might finally drop the Ninja code and return the favor to Gabimaru... at the cost of her life. I'm already preparing for it. T-T The show has been very yappy until this point, but seems like it's full activity from here on out. Here's hoping they don't bother doing filler parts with the new execution squad until the end of this arc. |
