Synopsis

The story moves on to a new stage──half a year has passed since the release of "POP IN 2." Thanks to Mem-cho's hard work, B-Komachi are on the verge of their big break. Aqua continues to grow as a personality, while Akane advances on her path to becoming a skilled actress. Meanwhile, Kana has lost her usual cheerfulness.

Finally, in her quest to uncover the truth behind Ai and Gorou's deaths, Ruby rises through the entertainment industry—using lies as her weapon.

Episode 25

Seeing that this is a show about idols that there should be a theme song with the featured idol group singing it that hasn't happened so far. At last for this episode B-Komachi does the opening, though that's not the actual theme song for this season. Anyway, this show has two more cours left before reaching its controversial and heavily criticized ending. This season is set to run for 11 episodes, meaning that season 4 will end this.

Where things left off, Aqua is back in Tokyo six months after discovering the remains of his body in his previous life, while his plan to get back at the one who was behind Ai's murder continues. The B-Komachi video has become a hit, and Aqua is spending time with each of the girls of B-Komachi, all while he has his master plan in mind as he continues to put up that front. But Ruby also has a pitch of her own. So pretty much, this is transition into the next arc as Aqua continues to build up his revenge plot.

Episode 26

And now, the focus shifts towards Ruby here as she wants to know more about her father, but will need to gain some more popularity to do so, and for that she gets a job on a show directed by Shun Yoshizumi. There's a segment on the show that requires cosplayers, but has difficulty finding the right ones, which Ruby offers to fill in for. He manages to secure them, but now another problem arises as they can't get the exact Tokyo Blade costumes, so they have to come up with something quickly. This goes to show what can go wrong in show biz, but for Ruby just about everything now depends on it.

Is this still considered a big series? I remember it really not living up to its great first episode.

All that talk about not wanting to be seen without filters was pretty funny. Every time I see someone attractive on social media now I wonder what they really look like.

The cosplay shoot was just a disaster as there were so many last-minute changes, and that the Tokyo Blade mangaka was supposed to sign off on it, which the director ran out of time to get. And thus, the cosplay event where the cosplayers wore more fanservicey versions of the costumes led to legality issues, all while the cosplayer Meiya was none too pleased about what the director Urashibara was doing to her. So he makes a rather extravagant apology there going on Dig Deep and showing up in his home-made cosplay to let Meiya know that he messed up big time and Meiya deleted her tweet, This goes to show that it's important to check to make sure everything is alright since once it happens it becomes public.

I'm starting to feel with this season what I felt about the beginning of season 2, it seems like they've lost the plot. Where's the stuff about trying to find their mother's killer? It's also almost like Ruby finding Aqua's former body last season didn't happen.

Episode 28

And now the suspected mastermind has been revealed, or at least the most likely person to have orchestrated Ai's murder. Aqua thought that it was Uehara, but he died long before Ai moved to the apartment building where she was killed. So it's back to the drawing board for Aqua, and Akane is in on it as well as she figured out that it was somebody who looks like Aqua who did it, and there he is. That guy is none other than the biological father of Aqua and Ruby, Kamiki. And Ruby is starting to take her ruthlessness up a notch seeing that those who play nice in this line of work are bound to get burned like what happened to Ai. Things took quite a turn here as Aqua had been focusing on the wrong man to get his revenge on, something that would have been impossible if he were the true culprit which he isnt.

I had a WTF moment when Rudeus Greyrat appeared and talked to Aqua, took me a few seconds to realize that was supposed to be him as a kid.

If Aqua missed some of the obvious points that Ichigo mentioned, I have to wonder if he subconsciously just wanted to stop looking for the killer.

Being in middle school at age 15 just seems weird to me

Episode 29

Now that Akane is onto Aqua having figured out who the culprit is before Aqua does, now she is trying to stop Aqua from meeting his father as he committed the crime as a minor, which means there's no legal way to bring him to justice and the only way to get his revenge is to kill him. In the meantime, Kana is dealing with the fact that she's not as popular as her Komachi-B colleagues as Ruby has been carrying the group, while Mem-cho has lots of publicity from her livestreams. So she ends up going over to Shima's house to talk about a job. However, there's a paparazzi hot on her trail who takes photos of her in secret as this is about to erupt into a scandal. This goes to show the cruel world of show biz where every move is being watched, and somebody else can ruin it with a lie that isn't so easily dismissed.

Episode 30

The ugly side of show biz is baring its fangs here as Kana visited Shima's apartment to talk about job prospects, but a paparazzi was following them and desperate for a story that can bring in viewers, they instigate a scandal, and Kana is caught in a catch 22 here as either she tells the truth, which is not so easily believed by others, or to run away, which amounts to an admission of guilt in the eyes of the viewers. She does the latter as she is totally unsure about what to do. Aqua is able to find her after she left her phone and now he is going to try and clear the air. In the meantime, Akane is trying to get to Kamiki first before Aqua does as she's being the detective now. Things just exploded big time now going to show just how brutal being in show biz is as one is under constant surveillance seeing that tabloids will jump at the chance to gain viewers even if they have to make up lies to do so.

Wouldn't be surprised if the new suspected AquaRuby daddy is actually older and was represented as being younger by some agency to take advantage of him looking younger than his real age. Getting someone pregnant at 11? Possible, but kind of a stretch. Getting someone pregnant at 13/14? No surprise there.
