I do not remember the exact context and circumstances in which Bundus gave the information but Bundus has his own goals, he wanted to have information about the Cleaner's boss so he gave information to the cleaners about the place to earn enough trust for them to open up about their boss even just a weebit. This was not a logical move from Bundus from the viewers perspective but it was a good writing move: 1. There's way more mystery surrounding the Cleaner's boss so the big reveal will be bigger 2. it helped our heroes escape from the pickle they were in 3. it helped establish more of Bundus's curious nature
