Recently found a JP thread on Twitter that I did find very interesting and I wanted to share here (Translated via Grok):

I think this is a clever point in Naoya's characterization. He acts like someone who loves the female form but hates women, but in reality, what he craves so desperately isn't the female body or respect from women—it's validation and respect from "men," and honestly, what women think is utterly irrelevant in the extreme. He just wants that homosocial approval.

However, before that thirst for approval, from a power scaling perspective, Gojo Satoru and Toji are, as per Naoya's words, on "that side" and "alpha males," but when you actually look at their humanity, one had his life completely changed by his wife and remained imprisoned by her until the very end, while the other was imprisoned by a single man for over ten years, so in reality, unlike alpha males, they possess emotional vulnerability.

In the end, the approval that Naoya so desperately craves doesn't actually exist, nor does "that other side," and because people can only be measured with the ruler of homosociality, he ends up gaining nothing and meeting his demise by being stabbed by the woman walking three steps behind him. Looking down on women is nothing more than a wink to the guys he wants to let him into the group. I think it's a cleverly crafted character.

I dunno about him seeking approval. He already feels like "the approved". He can speak out loud about ending Megumi without fearing loss of support and trashtalk the other elite clan men who are supposed to be his allies.

The woman stabbing him from three paces behind is a nice touch though, regarding poetic justice. I do feel like he's a cockroach though.

But I do like his character tho, he is the only one who aimed for the top spot unlike other characters like Nanami who thought the difference between Gojo and him was too vast and just didn't bother.
I think Sakuna would have respected Naoya, he is all about aiming to get the best without putting any limitations on yourself.

I like parts of this analysis, especially about him wanting to be validated as having the masculinity he sees in others. The second part of the analysis, that that masculinity doesn’t actually exist in the two he looks up to / is jealous of, feels shakier to me. I could see the argument for it but it doesn’t feel like something the author actually intended

Naoya is just a misogynist that craves male validation. He's looking for his man \(^^)/

It's always certain people, with certain problems in life, too, who find these sort of things "very interesting"^^

It's never the happy guy, with a girlfriend and a lot of past relationships who likes to share some misogynist babbling around...is all Im saying.
And I think that is interesting, aswell.

It's alsmost like there's a very specific breed of Man that is attracted to sexist ideas like this 😜

@thewiru

Im woke for being able to identify misogyny?^^
I don't think so. It just exists.

You too will find love, my boy. Don't give up.
Maybe the problem isn't EVERY female on planet earth and how we think, you know. Maybe....well....Maybe there's something you can do to cope with certain things, so you can be less hateful towards an entire gender.

Just food for thought.

It's not really about virtues, tho^^

It's just something that I noticed. If this Twitter Post is "Very interesting" then I think my observation qualifies as noteworthy, aswell :)

it was just a character breakdown but you have to think people who find it interesting or whoever wrote that is probably lonely or incel. So people can't even do character analysis without being judged on some stupid spectrum of yours? Your observations are really pathetic aunty.

It feels like he's mostly misogynistic and seeks approval from the strong, not men in particular. most strong guys in jjk are essentially men. she bullied maki coz she was weak and what he considered to be useful. toji had what you would consider to be aura. he has no cursed energy, but boy, is he strong. and that shocked naoya.

essentially, she refused to acknowledge making when she became toji-like mostly coz she was useless before and was having a hard time believing that she could power up as fast as she did.
