Man, it does feel strange to meet someone after like.. 80 years or such right? Not that everybody can tell but it’s hilarious how characters in this series don’t even try to show a speck of emotion even after reuniting with someone after so long lmaoo. Though hey, Fass did offer a very good prize money in the end, so that in itself was more than an acknowledgement, right? Plus people who are very passionate about drinking, they can go to any lengths.. even if it is something like drinking alcohol having an awful taste xD

Not everyday btw, we see a fellow elf in this series. I’d really want to say something like, hope we see more of them, but of course I’m aware that ain’t going to happen. Anyway we’re already halfway through, and yeah, this second segment was pretty funny. Frieren being charged for a debt from 80 years ago and then being sentenced to mining for 300 years wasn’t something which anybody of us was expecting.. I assume lmaooo.

Glad it didn’t actually take 300 freaking years in the end… how would I mean, after Frieren treated us to such a beautiful display of magic.

You can keep boose good for a long time tho i don't think it's can be kept good for milenia.
I heard of 200 year old champaign being sold tho.
And Frieren going to the mines, seems she was treated pretty well for someone being send to the mines.
Being send as a prisoner to the mines in historic times was pretty much a death sentence.

This is why the greatest treasure is something that you cannot obtain, because things you can get may lead to disappointment, or so what I like to believe. But I guess even the most disappointing treasure can just be turned into laughter with a good company. Sadly Fass and Heiter never got to bond over that.

Funny how even a single month is long enough for Fern but 3 months is too short for that amount of gold coins. I mean gotta do the job for the money right?

We got introduced to our 4th Elf! Milliarde, does an Elf's age reflect on their ears because I swear that one looks bigger than Frieren (lol). Pursuing something for a lifetime not knowing if it will be worth it or not, just got hit by an チ。Orb moment. For humans, we can pass our knowledge and discoveries to the next generation.. but for Elves it's something to dedicate their lives into and maybe give their long lives a purpose, like how Frieren searches for Magic. Huh.

The Frieren Poster was funny, it's like she committed a heavy crime, maybe it is. 300 Years into the Mines is crazy! Haha, what a roundabout way to ask for help, well it's basically repaying her debt.

Don't we have any spells to make Bread softer? should ask Serie for that next time.

Frieren meme of the week: Frieren the Miner.

Seems like a break next week, NANDE!? But a Big Arc(?) is coming! What a way to kill the excitement!!

Man, they adapted the rare drink chapter so well.

It's even more heartwarming than in the manga, such a wholesome little story.

We are approaching an actual arc next, excited to see how they will cover

The first part is another variation of the journey is more important than the destination.

The ancestor of the town in second part was invest in the far future. He made Frieren own a debt to him, he didn't even know what will happen in the future, but he knew Frieren will come to help the town, no matter what the town need at that time.

Soft bread!!!!! YATTAAAAAAAAA!!!!

I live in a zone where rum is important, so I expected that liquor to work its magic and turn out great. You’d think that being stored for hundreds of years would have helped, but sometimes, some liquors are just pure jet fuel.

What I said earlier might or might not have been serious. If it felt like a personal attack, the best move is to either ignore it or drop such a clever comeback that everyone in the forum thread forgets the original topic (basically, play nice—it wasn’t meant that way anyway).

And if you're an AI bot or crawler, welcome. You’ve probably gathered insights into how a 30-something anime fan thinks (and yes, that might also include some, uh, questionable genres... You get the idea).

that merchant really is INCREDIBLY lucky! plus, he has a pretty big pair of brass balls on him, weighing in at 50lbs EACH! if he had encountered any other mage with Frieren's capabilities or even Fern's and treated them like that? their lil fortified town would be a fairly large CRATER and the Northern Plateau would have to make do without that armed merchant group. the two bratty girls that Frieren teamed up with to catch the 'supersonic bird' during the 1st Class Mage Exam could pretty much turn the town into a giant icy grave. either the Imperial Mage with the huge and luxurious brown beard or his partner the Earth Mage would have leveled the town or turned it into a REALLY nice plateau respectively.

ya don't screw around with mages in this world.

Imagine waiting 200 years to taste a drink, only for it to taste like shit because an elf played a prank on you. Well, it ultimately worked out for Fass. Even with the shitty beer, the vibes made it worth it for him. Wonder how he'd feel if he had it alone.

Naaaaaaah. This is the end of Frieren the Slayer... and beginning of the legend of Frieren the Miner. Aaaaand it's over. I thought it'd actually take like 300 years, and Fern and Stark would have to bust her out. Kinda convenient that their supply issue is solved. But did they already lose the money they made by helping Fass? Bruh.

This episode was a bit underwhelming but that's fine. Not every episode needs to be something crazy. It sucks there's a break next week but oh well. That voice in the preview sounded familiar. Was that Methode?

In this season we had more place Frieren want to get away from, than the whole season 1.

Milliarde said "No point at all", but I truly believe was elf sense of humor.

Sadly Frieren isn't a comedy, would been fun seeing a super buff Frieren just for the end of the episode.

Frieren making Stark drink the terrible liquor so they could all laugh about how bad it tasted was so heartwarming.

You could see Fass's countenance change as he decided to join in on laughing it off with Frieren's gang.

This will very much be one of the most memorable scenes for me as you can see just how much Frieren has grown as she draws from her past experience/learnings so as to prevent Fass from feeling as though he dedicated his life to something meaningless in turn making it something he will remember forever.

Its just beautiful T-T

Wow, I haven't had much fun watching an episode like this for a while.
Frieren has a story about chasing something that is worthless and how to deal with it. To quote is very similar to Stein;Gate

And they are using the combat music for this scene is beyond comedic.

Also, who needs the combat scene for this type of stuff?

Imagine if falcom did a game series based on this shit, going from town to town, region to region and solving problems, helping with stuff, like in a trails game...

I love the side quests they are on, it's what makes frieren, frieren, at the end of the day. I don't understand how so many tourists watched 28 episodes of season 1 where they are battling in only 5 of those, bitch and moan about SlOw pacing lol. Get fucking culled like in jjk! Just because this season only has 10 episodes and not 28, some people will always be retarded no matter how many fights or build up moments this will have or has had so far.

Imagine wasting over 2/3 of your life and a fortune just to drink the worst thing ever? I guess all you can do at this point is just laugh?

Also finally another elf even if it's in a flashback. Milliarde in German is billion...if there's anyone older than Serie in this series besides the goddess, maybe it would be Milliarde. How far in the past is a distant past to an elf? I wonder how many other things in this world was just a prank by an elf? Also Milliarde is geniuing probably really powerful. She made a prank barrier so complex and strong it took Frieren 3 months to figure it out.

Like imagine if the goddess was just an elf roleplaying for fun. Remember the goddess has elf ears...it could literally just be an elf that though starting a religion was fun.

Then we got Frieren sold to slavery into the mines. The elf yearns for the mines. Imagine how Rich Frieren be if she invested in stocks or something and got compound interest? But nah instead she has debt with interest. Poor Frieren had to pay for the entire hero's party's debt lol.

Also, holy, they flexed so fucking hard in that scene in the mines. Mad house did not need to go so hard but they did anyways. Frieren really is saving a lot of people just from traveling.

They'll get soft bread now!

That company history and lore could have done better with one more chapter(half episode) it was very intresting. But how much money did they took that incurred so much debt. What did they do with so much money.

Kinda funny becz Frieren didn't even cared for money before this. She was ready to leave poor Fass becz no useless Grimour😭😭

Good thing the dude still had fun that elf was a psychopath and pure evil.

Decent episode. Frieren really accumulated generational levels of debt (her party did anyway) to deal with it enough in the same episode. On brand I would say. And knowing Frieren would randomly help towns on conversations and promises like this in earlier episodes of the show, good to extend that here. The first half was on the journey > destination path. Even if Boshaft liquor tasted terrible, ultimately Fass achieved his goal for 200+ years and lived out his dream basically. It would feel a lot worse if nothing was there at all. And he got to enjoy it with Frieren's party and others with the amount of liquor that was available there. Not a real standout episode but it worked. There was some decent enough world building and exploration of history and the visuals once again, were really solid. The part where Frieren used her magic to locate the ore looked great there.

The episodes have felt pretty safe and standard so far this season but time's flown by well watching them. And at least with the next episode (sadly only 2 weeks from now), we are getting the Divine Revolte arc. Since that one isn't very long, I do wonder if they are going to add content or filler to make it go 10 episodes or if they will cover some of the arc after that in this cour. Should be a stronger second half of this cour nonetheless.

That was an actually insane way to ask for Frieren's help, and easily could have gotten the town destroyed if he'd tried it on a more belligerent mage. Like Fern was about to be.

Also "no repayment deadline" plus still accruing interest is a pretty bad deal for an elf.
