Im gonna lose my mind. Each episode makes me want to tear my wrist open.
The plot is ass but the main problem lies in these characters, so fucking bland and so fucking cringe.

This fucking obnoxious loli. I think it’s the most annoying character I’ve seen in the last 5 years. Headpat, headpat, headpat, pout… Jesus Christ, this is some high level ragebait.

This cornball of a MC 😭. Can somebody tell him that clicking his tongue every time he opens his mouth is NOT tuff. Being openly annoyed, throwing exploding daggers, and shouting. Does he know how to do anything else. It makes one wonder. He has to be mentally challenged to be that braindead. Holy fuck, I’m genuinely amazed by how bad this character is written.

The cliché strict woman who softens with the story and develop feelings for the MC. Like come on, get the fuck out of here 😭

It saddens me to see a so poor written story with a top tier animation, like what a waste of time and manpower man.
How is this shit so highly scored ? I know MAL users have unusual tastes but surely we still have some common sense no ?

There’s only so much an author can do. Ik evryone wants a unique story and be creative but look how much manga and ln there are. There only so much creativity that one can use. There’s barely any new ideas left because of the competition. We just gotta be grateful with what we got from.

some have said the second half of the LN is where the story gets better but oh well, it is what it is.

The ratings keep dropping every week so you're not wrong for calling it overrated. For the except of Frenci, Kivia and Teoritta I couldn't care less about any character in this show. Xylo clicking his damn tongue every 2 seconds is the reason why I switched to dub. He's such any annoying character imo. He's my main problem in with this show. Just as you have said, his fighting is ass. Throwing daggers is legit the only thing he can do. Everytime I'm like, can't you do anything else? I was already bored by that move in the first episode. The other problem I have is that the enemies are just Demon blights and Demon Lords. Nothing special about fighting the same type of enemies repeatedly with one note moves. No varieties so far save for the latest episode and I doubt that'll last long. The rest are tolerable imo. Truly a waste of animation.

If it’s making you this angry every week, maybe the problem isn’t the show — maybe it’s you still watching it.

Writing an emotional meltdown about how everyone else “has no common sense” because they rated it highly doesn’t suddenly turn your opinion into fact. You don’t like it. Cool. Others do. That’s how ratings work.

Calling characters “braindead” and acting morally superior over taste just makes this read like ragebait in the opposite direction.

If it’s that unbearable, drop it. No one is forcing you to sit through something you clearly hate just to farm outrage.

Yea like Teorittas great I feel like I love genki lolis like her, but i have seen better ones tho. For instance (as you may know) Rirui from An Adventurer's Daily Grind at Age 29.

She's not just one honed in on personality trait where she's drives off the fact of getting headpats from her master and praise, which sure is typical loli shenanigans with this archetype but I feel she blatantly falls into these very linear categories.

Rirui on the other hand is also the genki loli archetype but is a complete mess while also not being a complete mess. Like shes a crashout and dumb like Teoritta, but she plays off her stupid moments in the most confident and nonsensical ways which adds to the great comedy the show provides. She ganers naunce with how she interacts with Hajime, which is either seeing him as a guardian, partner, or even someone to look after at times (motherly? 💀) regarding their more tender moments. Rirui feels way more multifaceted and less of just existing for comedic relief that Teoritta is normally forced into being constantly, which is ironic because 29 year old is a comedy show. Maybe its the fact that since theres y'know ACTUAL SOL MOMENTS UNLIKE SENTENCED TO BE A HERO, the slow more character moments shine more often.

Simply put, if you were to put Teoritta and Rirui in the same room with one another, I feel with Teoritta you would get Teoritta's character quite instantly. While yes you would get Rirui's aswell, there'd be naunces with her character that I feel make her much more appealing to appreciate over Teoritta. Moreso, I feel Teoritta's flaws would stick out by Rirui.

We just need character moments man. What this anime lacks is character moments which we finally got i think an episode ago. They keep going on with these dungeon demon lord fights that they expect us to be hype about when I feel we havnt really resonated with how Xylo has been facing his trauma over Teoritta and the past goddess he had. Moreso, the lack of slice of life moments this anime has has been dissapointing because the anime wouldn't feel nearly as bad to watch if they focused more on character arcs n such. I guess this is typical with fantasy anime (in which usually I don't like for these reasons) because they expect you to think world building is the justification on why we don't get character moments and meaningful interactions instead. This also hurts character enjoyability due to the lack of knowledge that I still feel like I have for characters such as Kivia and Teoritta, like do we even know who these characters are??? They're here and I like Teoritta but its very baseline due to the lack of development ive seen from her and Kivia at all. It's the stagnation in this front i feel is what's hurting this story honestly, and im glad there's hope they recognized and acted sortve on it in the ep 2 episodes ago, but at the same time they're just taking way too long to get to that point.

Im still enjoying the anime but man was i dissapointed on the most recent episode when we were FINALLY gonna get a SoL potential ep with Teoritta and Xylo, but nope some mf demon lord pops up again and now all the focus is gonna be on that rather than trying to build meaningful connections with our characters.

So what? Isekai's are milked from op mc being transported to another world. Romance is milked with highschool comedy of mc getting with popular girl at school. Shounen doesn't change the formula from mc starting off weak, meets with organization then gets stronger with time.

It's clearly not peak fiction. The writing is very bland and you can clearly see tropes here and there.

HOWEVER, I think most of the fans are here for the animation. If you can't handle the 'sloppy' story, then don't watch it. But at least before you leave, you have to admit the explosion effects are just🤌

Is it clever?
No.

Is it written well and made for adults who're into intricate storytelling?
No.

It looks good and is pretty entertaining, if you're just taking it for what it is :)
But if you're that butthurt about corny lines or a Loli appearing.... you can't see it. It doesn't help.

It's just not for you.
That doesn't mean everybody on here has lost their common sense, you know. It's just people who can enjoy a silly, little Show without losing their shit.

The anime is mid, the first episode gave a lot of hope being long-form plus the animation carried a lot but it is wasted here, I would have loved this degree of effort and money put into the TBATE anime last season, it would have been incredible.
I know people tend to have polarized opinions about isekai or a hate/love situation and I am biased since like the isekai a lot, but TBATEs animation and battles were just awful.

I agree with most of what you said. When the anime was sold to me as "better than Mushoku Tensei," I expected much more, but so far it's visually beautiful and the OST are good, but the storyline is really uninteresting so far, and the characters... ugh, the characters are all more annoying than the next, and Teoritta is the worst of all by far, purée, one of the most irritating characters I've seen lately. "Waga Kishi, waga kishi," how annoying.
